All Glory to the HypnoToad

Standard* BRG (Jund) Competitive Midrange

Sideboard

Basically a deck built around delirium and the new Hypno- I mean the Gitrog Monster. Plays with lands and discard to get advantage. Comments and constructive criticism is accepted to make the deck better.

Thanks in advance.

Reasons behind each card.

Deathcap Cultivator: A mana producer of our main color that later becomes a great blocking creature due to delirium.

Groundskeeper: This guy makes sacrificing lands just a bit less demanding and hurtful.

Inexorable Blob: 3/3 for 3? It's not bad. A 3/3 for 3 that produces more 3/3? Way better. It is solid and gives us more solid bodies. With delirium it does demand a response.

Mina and Denn, Wildborn: Being quite honest I had some doubts with these two. But they help us accelerate mana, have a good body for 4 manas and can give trample to our creatures (I'm mainly talking about the father HypnoToad being honest. Sin Prodder is a good option too.)

Sin Prodder: Nice body, good attacking power due to menace. It's our 3 drop in case there is no early delirium. Now he gives us 2 things we want; either we draw cards and are happy, or he deals free damage while also providing stuff for delirium or more lands that may trigger HypnoToad in case he is present.

Soul Swallower: Our main offense, he doesn't have a good body at the beginning, but damn he grows so quickly with delirium it will need an immediate response thanks to his innate trample.

The Gitrog Monster: Behold the Great HypnoToad. This guys is great, a 6/6 with deathtouch for 5. Wow. We need to sacrifice a land? Whatever he makes us draw cards and put more lands onto the battlefield. By the point of the game we use this guy he will be a bomb. He's hard to deal with since he avoids languish, ultimate price, tons of burning spells (you're included Roast), Grasp of Darkness, etc. This guys basically needs to be exiled. and with the siblings he'll always hit hard.

To the Slaughter: Well... there's Arlinn, and Jace (Vryn's), and Sorin... oh and Nahiri! We're not forgetting Chandra right? Some decks even use Ob Nixilis. This will be great against those decks and we'll usually cast it with delirium. SAVE THIS STUFF. You can sacrifice some early blockers just remember when to use this things against some decks such as control or werewolves.

Ultimate Price: What's monocolored right now? Hmm, well there's Avacyn, quite the card if I say so. Oh and Jace! All of the damn werewolves that will be an issue. Vampires (except olivia, but hey we hit drana on her face). Right now it is the best time for Ultimate Price to make a stand against early and late threats. Good, cheap removal.

Magmatic Insight: This card is good in general for aggro because they don't need many lands. This deck uses and NEEDS many lands... Yet this + HypnoToad will make our hand fill quite quickly for just 1 mana. We want this when we're in trouble (no hand and a hypnotoad on the battlefield) or to find something important.

Tormenting Voice: More card draw that helps us choose what to send in order to make delirium work out. Pretty cheap and has synergy with the deck.

Traverse the Ulvenwald: One of our main two cards that will quicken delirium. It is great to find lands when we are a three color deck if we get it on early. If do get it later on it is a damn demonic tutor! God this card is just great and real cheap.

Vessel of Nascency: Our main delirium enabler. This will almost always send 3 different types of cards + itself to the graveyard and no one will be able to stop it. In some way it also tutors us what we want. It's our best one drop and makes a good start for the deck. (Psst, there will be no pesky werewolves on turn two with this)

There is no need to explain why we run 24 manas though we're not a control deck.

Suggestions

Updates Add

-1 Groundskeeper in order to +1 the Deathcap Cultivator

Balanced out the lack of Groundskeeper by substituting the 2 Foreboding Ruins with 2 Drownyard Temple

-1 Sin Prodder due to lack of expensive cards and +1 Soul Swallower for more consistent damage.
