Sideboard

Maybeboard

This deck is my own personal brain child. After first seeing the card Assault formation I became obsessed with finding a way to make that card work. I love this deck for its wonky-weird style and the Idea that you are being attacked by walls. However, this isn't just another Assault formation deck as it has an alternate win-con. Phenax, God of Deception. This deck excels Vs aggro and by stalling out the game until it can find its win cons. This deck, being combo-y in nature, struggles against control, which is why a good portion of the side board is dedicated to the bad match up. Please take the time to review this deck as a viable and competitive deck, I believe it to be at least tier 2 as it fairs very well against the current standard save for Esper Dragons.

This deck has the dream goal of winning with a turn 5 win. Turn 1: island and Sidisi's Faithful Turn 2: Assault Formation, Swing with Sidisi's Faithful for 4 dmg. Turn 3: plop down a few Shape the Sands or Triton Tactics for absurd dmg. Turn 4: if they are still not dead continue to keep putting down 7/7 for 3 mana cost until they die, using collected company to get them out.

However, I realize that in most cases, the cards will never fall in this way. You'll be stuck with a bunch of walls that don't do anything while you desperately try to draw into one of those 4 Assault Formations. But that's why I tried to add a bit of versatility with Mr. Phenax, God of Deception. Plop down this card and continue to use your walls to block and tap them before damage resolves to whittle your opponent down usually within 3 turns. if you have a shape the sands or Triton tactics you can speed this up.

This deck is not perfect, but it functions as a shot of control deck against aggro by not allowing them to swing while waiting until it can end the game. It's low mana costs and Collected Company ensures it can keep pace with most decks. Especially if it has the play.

Assault Formation : The core of this deck. Turns unimposing walls into monsters. Can be played turn 2 before your opponent has access to counter spells, or could be played later when you have 6 creatures out to surprise your opponent when all those creature can now swing for lethal.

Collected Company : This extremely hyped card fits well into this deck as its able to pull out any creature in this deck. It has a 70% chance of drawing 2 creatures out and a 93% chance of drawing at least 1 creature it can play.

Courser of Kruphix : My only source of life gain in this deck. Simple a great card, a staple in every deck that has green. Helps me get through the mana to find my win-cons, healing me as it goes. It's 2/4 which is enough toughness to make it useful in this deck and the 2 power can be very useful when dealing with non-mega morphed den protectors or when I can't seem to draw assault formation. This Card also pairs very well with Kiora, the Crashing Wave. And serves as an enchantment so I dont have to sacrifice one of my win-con enchantments should my opponent use a Dromoka's Command.

Dragon-Eye Savants 2 mana for a 0/6 This is the back bone creature of the deck. It's high toughness will make my enemies cry. Whether by blocking, Milling, or swinging for 6/6. The morph ability is not normally good enough to use. I have used it against control in some cases though.

Monastary flock : a 3 drop for 0/5 isnt that good, but helps to deal with flying threats and allows me to be able to swing with a 5/5 flying for a 3 drop. ( Master of the Feast is that you?)
