A mono-blue devotion/tempo deck for Pioneer. I started playing Modern with Merfolk last year and Master of Waves is one of my favorite cards, so I wanted to make a deck that would let me play with him again. I more or less just merged cards from my Modern Merfolk deck with the Curious Obsession deck that was doing well in Standard a while back. Tempest Djinn into Master of Waves seems really good.

Thassa, God of the Sea is another great payoff for the devotion to blue, and can smooth out our draws as well as pushing through the last bit of damage with her ability.

Harbinger of the Tides and Merfolk Trickster work well together and give the deck tempo swings. Gadwick, the Wizened seems pretty good here since all our spells are blue.

Definitely a rough draft, but relatively inexpensive and hopefully competitive enough to win at the FNM level. Eventually wanting to grab more Thassas and Brazen Borrower , but they have both gone up quite a bit in price.
