Maybeboard

If there's one thing I can't resist, it's a Rakdos party. Ain't nothing can resist that.

This deck is not nearly as cheap as it once was, and now has to stand on it's own without Partial Paris to lean on. Previous versions of this deck were built to abuse the heck out of the rule, mulling down to just the necessary cards to explode onto the battlefield. As a result, things like Hellkite Tyrant, Sire Of Insanity) and the Charmbreaker Devils + Final Fortune + Platinum Angel combo have been shelved.

Current Rakdos enabling spells include: Cryptolith Fragment   (new all-star card), Gut Shot, Honden of Infinite Rage, Onyx Goblet, Bloodgift Demon, Hangarback Walker (a decent turn two play that might make an evasive attacker by turn 4, can get huge with if paincast in the late game), Heartless Hidetsugu, Shepherd of Rot, Pilgrim's Eye (great to see in the opening hand, gets that fourth basic on turn three and flies), Plague Spitter (good for keeping tokens and dorks in check), and Sin Prodder (another new all-star), Walking Ballista, and Piranha Marsh (other damage-dealing lands cost too much to activate, on top of only tapping for colorless mana).

I'm also testing Tree of Perdition, which has some fun synergy with Maga, Traitor to Mortals.

The basic gameplan is to get out Rakdos by turn four, drop a few fatties, then play something that will wheel the rest of our hand into more fatties, like Dragon Mage, Knollspine Dragon, or good ol' Wheel of Fate.

Normally, this deck runs few colorless creatures. Although Rakdos is primed to paincast Eldrazi and the like, it's a well known fact that Eldrazi are no fun at parties. Therefore, this deck does not normally run Eldrazi cards, but feel free to slot in Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and/or Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre if that's your jam.

Havoc Festival is the best festival. Ain't no party like a Rakdos party, 'cause a Rakdos party means everyone is unable to gain life while losing massive amounts of life. Add Wound Reflection if you really want to make sure the party doesn't go on too long.

Considering Magus of the Wheel andMagus of the Will, maybe swapping out Demonic Tutor and something else for Vampiric Tutor and Reforge the Soul.

Here's your fun Cult of Rakdos trivia, btw: So, each of the guilds of Ravnica runs a different sector of society. Some are obvious, like the Izzet keeping the power going, and the Boros enforcing the law, but the Cult of Rakdos in in charge of two things: Entertainment, and food services. That's right, if you stop down on Tin Street to get some fast food, it's probably going to be served to you by some fella with blood-tattoos dressed in spiky leather fetish gear.

So you know, like any regular McDonalds.
