Sideboard

This is my first attempt at making a Jund deck. The main focus of this deck is maintaining board control, but I put a heavy emphasis on player interaction, as I find those types of decks to be the most fun to play.

Abrupt Decay: Good at removing annoying artifacts or enchantments like Sword of Fire and Ice, Umezawa's Jitte, or Detention Sphere, as well as getting rid of creatures like Dark Confidant, Deathrite Shaman, or Delver of Secrets.

Kolaghan's Command: Makes a great target for Bloodbraid Elf as it has a ton of utility value.

Bloodbraid Elf: Because Blightning, Tarmogoyf, Pernicious Deed, Maelstrom Pulse, and Hymn to Tourach, that's why.

Sylvan Caryatid: It makes a good blocker and can help mana ramp early on. Helps me to get that Bloodbraid in on turn 3.

Chandra, the Firebrand: Can allow me to ping away things Like Dark Confidant and Delver of Secrets, as well as allow me to double-cast my removal spells. Ultimate ability works as a great board sweeper, and can do enough damage to win when my opponent's life total is 6 or below.

Courser of Kruphix: Extra land draws plus some minor lifegain which does well to offset the life lost due to fetch-lands and shock-lands. Also can be a decent blocker.

Creakwood Liege: Buffs my creatures pretty well, and also makes 3/3 tokens every turn which helps against token decks or give me much needed blockers.

Dreadbore: Great removal spell, especially for planeswalkers, and only costs 2 mana.

Huntmaster of the Fells: Can generate tokens, gain me life, ping away my opponent's creatures, and deal direct damage. Just a ton of utility with this one.

Hymn to Tourach: My favorite card in the deck, it's just so damn great at disabling an opponent's hand early on, and can also get stuff in the graveyard to feed Tarmogoyf.

Lightning Bolt: Good, cheap removal and direct damage.

Maelstrom Pulse: Great at destroying just about anything, and at a reasonable cost too. Has gotten me out of a lot of bad situations.

Olivia Voldaren: Great at pinging away creatures as well as stealing stuff.

Pernicious Deed: Can destroy all tokens on the battlefield with one fell swoop.... That, and a lot more other stuff. Such a great card, I absolutely have to have it in this deck.

Pyroclasm: Great way to board wipe early on before I can get many creatures out, or when my opponents have a lot of tokens that I can't take care of.

Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker: His +1 ability can put some serious pressure on players, and his -3 ability is a great way to deal with those creatures that are just out of bolt range.

Tarmogoyf: Main damage dealer. No explanation needed.
