This is a sort of prowess focused, midrange deck. If I were to play Modern, this is the kind of mono red I would want to play. Lots of value in every card. All with cards I enjoy. Monastery Swiftspear, Kiln Fiend and Young Pyromancer are your cards that reward you for playing noncreature spells. Mostly instants and sorceries. Lightning Bolt, Burst Lightning are your offensive burn spells. Light Up the Stage is your card advantage. Collective Defiance is a utility spell for burn, removal or wacky card fixing. Stigma Lasher is a filler, generic good red card. Grim Lavamancer gives you a little bit of extra reach by turning your useless graveyard into valuable damage. Hazoret the Fervent is a big threat that is usually online when you play it and can turn lands into damage for a little bit of extra reach when you run out of hand or start to land flood. It also can fuel the Lavamancer. Chandra, Torch of Defiance is a really, really good red planeswalker. Maybe the best one yet. She gives you card advantage, mana ramp or burn. All on a clock the opponent must answer or they will lose. She is everything you could want. Ramunap Ruins is a land that gives a little bit of reach in terms of burn damage, but can still provide us with valuable colored mana if we need it. The rest of the lands are mountains. Pretty simple and efficient manabase. To be clear like with all my non commander decks, I am not a real Modern player. I am a casual, with a casual interest in 60 card formats. I just think a lot of these cards are really cool and I personally enjoy them. Although, I am aware enough to know that some of these cards are staples in modern, pioneer, pauper and wrecked in standard. All with good reason. Maybe I will throw in a side board later. The cards in the deck should also be quite cheap. Chandra, Torch of Defiance and Glorybringer especially I think are criminally underpriced cards given how strong they are. Even considering rotations. The rest of the deck should also be really cheap and most of the cards are iconic cards that will be valuable to you in multiple formats.
