Hello all! this is take 1 on "Affinity" in Pioneer. As you can easily tell I have not gone for the popular "Counters matter" version of this deck. I personally the deck feels powerful enough without the cute interactions BUT I could be wrong. I will be playtesting(in paper) this over the next few weeks and report back with potential changes! If you are also building this deck drop a comment! I like suggestions and concerns. Thanks for stopping in.

Sideboard coming much later once we have some data about what this meta is.

UPDATES 10/30:

Changed inventors fair for Sea Gate Wreckage: 4 mana is a big heavy for this deck as I found, currently testing Sea Gate for an advantage engine.

Other than that the numbers feel solid for what we are trying to do. Ornithopter + springleaf drum feels much more correct than mox amber and legends. Gingerbrute is 100% the best card in the deck. As said by some of you Shrapnel blast is still a little loose, the Animating Fae spell may be its replacement in the near future.

TOURNAMENT REPORT: 1/1/20 This deck is still solid but with the banning of looter scooter and addition of harvester the deck needs a bit of trimming in the CMC department.

Round 1: 2-0 played against bad mill that focused on sphinxes tutelage. Easy win

Round 2: 2-1 played against mono green devotion/aggro. Game 1 my opponent mulled to 5 and I took off with a turn 2 Ensoul on an ornithopter follows up by all that glitters. Lost game 2 to them going off turn 3 and me keeping a clunky hand. Game 3 I swung in with an 11/11 gingerbrute. Ez pz

Round 3: 2-0 played against mono black zombies, in short went off with all that glitters turn 2 each game. Game 2 they had removal but I had and indestructible 5/5 land

FUN GAME: 0-1 played against esper control and lost pretty bad, kept a clunker for time and drew all lands. Still not sure if it’s a bad matchup.
