Here's a fun little control build for mono-red. It features everything one would expect from a control deck in kill spells, lots of mana, some draw spells, and 3-4 win conditions. It's quite fair, with no over-the-top shenanigans, preferring to slowly chip away with Purphoros, God of the Forge swinging and having his ability get triggered by Throne of Empires , Goblin Assault, Chandra, Flamecaller , Rite of the Raging Storm, and Akroan Horse.

In order to get to the point of actually, possibly winning, this beauty runs several land destruction spells backed up by mana rocks to ensure I can still cast spells afterwards while my opponents are without land. If there's any other heavy hitters in red to serve as finishers, or good utility cards please feel free to respond! This is still a bit of a work in progress and I would love to hear.

While you don't have a lot of fast mana (the legal Moxen, Mana Crypt, and so on) you do have a ton of mana rocks. Even though your average CMC is above 3.5 I think you can safely shave 2, maybe 3, lands from the deck for other cards. Given how often you're trying to blow up lands, drawing one after the first few turns is virtually a wasted draw.

To compensate, I'd suggest also swapping out some of your highest CMC cards for cheaper but more targeted solutions. These include Inferno and Incite Rebellion (unless several people you know play token spam decks). I'm not crazy about Akroan Horse but you might like Trading Post in its place.

You may also find Daretti, Scrap Savant, Goblin Welder, Faithless Looting, Trinisphere, Torpor Orb, Chaos Warp, or Aftershock to be valuable. The last two and Daretti in particular, because you do also want some targeted removal and with so many artifacts Daretti can shine.
