W/U Control with Wizards!
Main Objective is to Flip Docent of Perfection
. This makes
Reflector Mage
,
Halimar Tidecaller
, and Willbreaker 4/4's with flying. They become 5/5's with flying and Vigilance once Always Watching hits the board.
The Awaken mechanic on
Clutch of Currents
,
Rush of Ice
,
Scatter to the Winds
, and
Planar Outburst
is a second line to consider because of
Halimar Tidecaller
granting land creatures flying as well as bringing back spells that have Awaken. It is a slower mechanic, but could ultimately sneak up on your opponent.
Willbreaker is also around to take control of their threats. The can-trip spell package of
Clutch of Currents
and
Rush of Ice
will trigger his passive ability of taking control of their creatures, so long as he's out there. If that doesn't fly, we can always bounce with
Reflector Mage
and
Clutch of Currents
Anticipate is there to dig into what I need,
Geist of the Archives
helps cycling also with the Scry each upkeep. Though I'm not a fan of it being a Spirit. I'd rather stick with the Wizard Tribal.
Crush of Tentacles
,
Planar Outburst
, and flipping Thing in the Ice
are your emergency buttons in case you're being overwhelmed. With Eldritch Moon, there's a lot more Horror creature types, so Thing in the Ice
could be subbed for more Wizards.
Ojutai's Command
is super versatile, why not have it in the deck?
I really love the potential of Disciple of the Ring, but feel like if I'm retrieving my Awaken Spells with
Halimar Tidecaller
that only leaves a handful of spells left to target for all those sweet abilities.
Part the Waterveil
is very much a win-more card or something to do if I'm flooded. Both of these are easily a first choice to sideboard out of.
Every Instant can flash in a Wizard to block or to add to the collection of Wizards, so long as the Feature Card: Docent of Perfection
is on the board. I feel like this deck could be very fun, but I'm not positive of it's winning capabilities.
