I've built a couple of other decks, but this is the first one I've asked for suggestions on. Obviously, the main idea is vampires. Duh. Because its based on vampires, I tried to do a combination of lifelink and life loss from non-damage sources, which I feel fits with the theme.
In the playtesting that I have done so far, the big stars are
Vampire Nocturnus
and Vampire Nighthawk. Because its a mono-black deck, Nocturnus' ability is always active when he's on the field. That, combined with Nighthawk's lifelink and the shared flying, works very well.
There is the Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond
combo. I'm not usually a fan of game winning combos, but it costs enough mana and I like the cards individually enough, I'd like to keep them in there.
One unexpected pleasure was the Leechridden Swamp. Even if I have nothing to put my mana into, I can still cause damage every turn, which is especially great in multiplayer.
Then there is of course Sorin Markov. His + is solid, but, especially in 1v1, his -3 is brutal. I love it.
This deck is labeled Modern, because I like keeping all my decks in either Modern or Standard, but I'm not looking to use it for any tournament play. It will pretty much just be for casual, FNM style play, both in group play and 1v1. I would like to keep it Modern legal, just so it fits with the rest of the decks I play against. Also, the price is already a little higher than I would like, and I'm not willing to go TOO much higher.
Edit: So I made a lot of changes that you guys had suggested. Always looking for more tweaking though.
