A B splash W eldrazi midrange brew that I have been working on for several months now.

Processors are dead to me.

For the ideal mana base I would like to have:

  • 20 Black and White to have a 90% chance to cast tidehollow sculler on turn 2
  • 19 Black to have a 90% chance to cast liliana on turn 3
  • 11 Colorless to have a 90% chance to cast my creatures on turn 4

This deck has:

  • 18 White
  • 18 Black
  • 10 Colorless + 2 mindstone = 11 Colorless

Update April 4, 2016: Doesn't matter that eye was banned. I didn't run it in this deck.

Update April 7, 2016: I lowered the curve a little bit to test out wasteland strangler. It will be a decent card to combat ancestral visions. I am not the biggest fan of tidehollow sculler since it is horrible against aggro decks, feeds 'goyf twice, and kolaghan's command but I am willing to give it another shot.

Update April 10, 2016: Went 3-1 in a Saturday night modern tourney. Small field of 16 people. Games played:

  • Ascendancy Combo. Game 1 I pulled a turn 2 thought-knot, followed by a turn 3 tidehollow. It felt a little dirty. Game 2 he had a board of young pyro tokens but reality smasher trampled over them.
  • Grixis delver. This is a decent matchup. There are 13 discard effects in this deck which work well with wasteland strangler. I lost the second game due to only drawing two mana while facing two flipped delvers. Game three I lost since I kept a really greedy 1 mana hand and didn't draw another land for 4 turns. Lesson learned. 1-2
  • BWR this deck had a lot of kill spells and bob, young pyro, and pack rat as its win conditions. They were longer grindy games but the man lands and lingering souls really shined here. 2-1
  • Hexproof worship deck. This deck was GW and primarly played hexproof indestructible dudes while trying to stick a worship on the field.

The weakness of the deck above is primarly:

  • Life loss due to fetch lands, pain lands, and anguished unmaking. It is somewhat offset with shambling vent, vault of the archangel, and sorin, solemn visitor, but it can still be really painful against fast aggro decks.
  • Lack of additional card draw. Mind stone makes up for this somewhat and it also helps - Weak against remand and counterspells.
  • Spreading seas can really hurt if you don't draw the correct mana. Mind stone helps with spreading seas as well as blood moon so you can at least cast the creatures.
  • Probably a lot more...

One of the best parts of this iteration of the deck is there are now 13 targets for when matter reshaper dies.

Update Jan 15, 2017 :: Changed the creature base up a bit to include more eldrazi displacers and cut the matter reshapers for liliana of the veil and to lower the colorless mana requirements. Added fatal push.
