Boros Tempo (Budget)

Modern* Budget

FinalReason

Description

A budget deck that I am brewing. The point is to be efficient enough with your early creatures and either win the game through aggro or start gaining advantage with the larger beaters. With lots of indestructability effects the deck is very resillient to board wipes and in a pinch the Boros Reckoner + Blasphemous Act combo can decimate an unprepared opponent.

You should probably cut "Assemble the Legion" it won't do enough for you and has cmc 5. While indestructible will protect you from damage effects it doesn't help against -n/-n spells or counters. You probably want some extra removal or disruption outside of "Lightning Helix" and "Blasphemous Act"

Rift Bolt is budget friendly, Deflecting Palm and Searing Blood are worth considering. Spark Trooper and Tuktuk the Explorer are fun, though what you probably need is more 1 drops, maybe Grim Lavamancer...

Thank you for your suggestions. Deflecting Palm is more of a sideboard card. As far as removal is concerned, I was thinking about Chained to the Rocks. For 1-drops, maybe Student of Warfare, Doomed Traveler or Judge's Familiar.

Student of Warfare is a less efficient Figure of Destiny, but it suffers the same issue of being a mana investment that is easily removed when you could be casting more relevant cards. Doomed Traveler replaces itself so has an upside, I like it for this deck. Only other 1 drop creature that could fit is Vexing Devil, normally giving your opponent the choice isn't a great play, however the card is cheap for either effect...

Chained to the Rocks is a nice card but it has a couple of flaws, first it encourages your opponent to destroy your land, second enchantment removal is either in most sideboards or main-decked. To my mind you'd be better running Journey to Nowhere.

This deck NEEDS Lightning Bolt, it is just an absurd magic card, it can either kill a medium sized creature, or go to the face for the last few points of damage. Also, I think that a playset or so of Path to Exile would be money well spent, as it is just one of the best removal spells in modern, and it will kill anything for just one mana.
