This deck is a sort of mill/dredge hybrid. The idea isn't necessarily to win by mill, though that's possible, but to use mill to create exploitable situations, and to abuse the fabulous Duskmantle Guildmage + Mindcrank combo, which will either mill the opponent or run them out of health in one turn for four mana. Jace's Phantasm is useful not only as a one-drop 5/5 flying creature, but also as a means of triggering ciphers, since they are hard to block. Consuming Aberration becomes huge very quickly, and facilitates mill with its ability. Waste Not opens up more options by providing either creatures or draw, and Miro Vrosk, Circu, and Jace are all pretty standard in a mill deck, as is Phenax. The sideboard contains ciphers and removal, plus Mind Grind for more mill, should it be necessary (Mind Grind also targets all opponents for multiplayer). Key synergies are in Duskmantle Guildmage + Mindcrank , or Mindcrank with any mill, really, to burn through health, but Duskmantle Guildmage deserves special mention since it has an ability that causes the opponent to put cards into their graveyard from their library, which feeds into Mindcrank, which feeds back into Duskmantle Guildmage to run through an opponent's entire supply of health or cards. Jace's Phantasm + Jace, Memory Adept is excellent, since even if the opponent keeps recycling or exiling cards, Jace's 0-point ability gets back up to ten cards in the graveyard and makes Jace's Phantasm into a 5/5. Duress + Shrieking Affliction effectively puts the opponent on a timer, and Consuming Aberration + Traumatize gives a huge and easy-to-buff creature.
