While the deck primarily bleeds Treefolk tribal, I wanted to include some cards that abuse the lifegain with Sapling of Colfenor 's ability.

There are two primary paths to victory with this deck:

1 - With Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose , Sanguine Bond , or Defiant Bloodlord on the battlefield, any lifegain you have becomes significant damage.

Various lifegain outlets in the deck include Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper , Verdant Sun's Avatar , Orchard Warden , and Sapling of Colfenor 's ability.

These become particularly punishing with cards like Ghoultree , Tree of Redemption , and Tree of Perdition

2 - With various seemingly non-threatening Treefolk on the battlefield, drop Treefolk Umbra or Assault Formation and start beating your opponents down or with commander damage. Verdeloth the Ancient and Timber Protector also contribute to the fun.

In order to more consistently accomplish lifegain and card draw with our commander, various top-deck fixing mechanics are present as well: Worldly Tutor , Insidious Dreams , Courser of Kruphix , Crystal Ball , Haunted Crossroads , Lifecrafter's Bestiary , Vizier of the Menagerie , Treefolk Harbinger , and Bolas's Citadel .
