Commander to me is all about having casual fun. I prefer it as a slower format, with lots of interaction between players - it makes for a fun, memorable experience. When Unstable was released, the new legendary creatures piqued my interest, and Grusilda, Monster Masher is the first I've chosen to build a deck around. Her abilities are strong and fun, but not so rule-breaking as to make people not want to play against her.

I took some inspiration from Abe Sargent's list at http://www.gatheringmagic.com/abesargent-12112017-budget-commander-40-grusilda-monster-masher/ but wanted more Unstable cards included as well, particularly Three-Headed Goblin, as well as Split Screen for its unique draw fixing ability (seriously, I want a black border version of this card for all my regular Commander decks). I'm considering cards from other Un-sets as well, but I plan to stay away from anything too goofy for now (so Pointy Finger of Doom will be staying in the maybeboard for the time being, lol).

As I mentioned, this is only the first deck based around Unstable legends I'm building. Next on the list: X!

A note on mass removal

When I put the deck together, I realized I'd left out mass removal. Initially I included Crux of Fate, but my wife recently acquired the Draconic Domination precon, so I've removed it for now. The current mass removal spells (Blasphemous Act, Ichor Explosion, Nevinyrral's Disk, and Starstorm) were selected because I had them on hand.
