Sideboard

''Brute force can sometimes kick down a locked door, but knowledge is a skeleton key.''

David Price aka the king of beatdown once said this fabulous quote about magic : ''People like control because they think it shows that they're good Magic players. Active decks, on the other hand, produce threats, and control decks must have the right answer to the right threat. If not, they're in trouble. While there are wrong answers, there are no wrong threats.''

The deck is meant to capitalize on the truth of David's words. Find the good answers and you'll have great power.

Sultai Ascendancy ; Looking at the top 2 cards before your draw is pure knowledge. Better answers, consistent mana drops, and fuel for Dig Through Time.

Bow of Nylea ; Ensuring a powerful endgame with lifegain, buffing Prognostic Sphinx , dealing damage to what could possibly block it, and making sure you do not mill yourself with Sultai Ascendancy .

Prognostic Sphinx Attack, scry 3, find what you need.

Dig Through Time ; Do I really have to explain Dig through time?

Despise ; Look at their hand, take out their biggest threat.

Took out Psychic Intrusion mainboard. It fitted well with the deck's theme but proved useless many times. Either the opponent had no cards left, or I was scrying it bottom cause all I wanted was an answer to a threat. Replaced it with Jace's Ingenuity, still fits the theme and helps find more answers. Also replaced Back to Nature with Sultai Charm (sideboard). Back to nature interfered with my own enchantments, Sultai Charm still gives me the possibility to deal with enchantments or artifacts if need be.

Still no FNM, finals are coming and I've been hit with neck pain for the last 4 days so yeah... Been playtesting against other decks though and I have to admit that when Thassa, God of the Sea or Sultai Ascendancy are on the board I feel like a freakin god; it ain't scrying for next turn, it's scrying for NOW! Sultai Ascendancy has proven itself more valuable than Thassa with its 2 card peak, however the diminishing returns of drawing 2 Sultai Ascendancies would outweigh the probability advantage of running two...
