Sideboard

This is a copied deck from sharkudi. I decided to make a standard remake of his deck (which he did also but it wasn't quite what I wanted) So i made this. It is actually one of my favorite decks that I have made and It is so much fun to put out 4 cards turn 1. Below you will see how I have done in FNM(s) and such. If you guys like this deck be sure to +1 and comment on any changes you think I should make.

FNM #1 (4 Matches): The people who were running this event were kind enough to let me make edits to the deck and sideboard as the matches went on so here's shoutout to the guys at Cataclysm Games

Match 1 (Dimir Control) 0-2: Having literally just gotten this deck put together 30 minutes ago I started my first FNM with this deck. This match was essentially me doing alot of early damage (Shoutout to Ensoul Artifact) and then him using Perilous Vault. After that I would end up top decking and he would use a ton of draw spells to keep his removal consistent leading into Prognostic Sphix and/or Pearl Lake Ancient

Game 1: Was able to get out a ton of creatures and knocked him down to 8 life thanks to Darksteel Citadel + Ensoul Artifact and Hour of Need. Then he used Perilous Vault and removed pretty much every creature I had up to that point. He gained back up to 13 life and just kept removing all of my creatures then killed me with Prognostic Sphinx

Sideboard:

-1 Crippling Chill -2 Void Snare -2 Stubborn Denial +2 Gainsay +2 Negate +1 Wall of Frost (Don't know why i sided him in...)

Game 2: This one went a bit better, I was able to get of Hypnotic Siren + Ornithopter + Springleaf Drum turn 1. It was actually a pretty even matchup. He used Perilous Vault again and I was able to hang on because I got out two Military Intelligence. Eventually he was at 3 life and I was at 5. He had enough mana to use Perilous Vault AGAIN and finish me off with Pearl Lake Ancient

MVPs: Hypnotic Siren + Ornithopter + Springleaf Drum and Darksteel Citadel + Ensoul Artifact

Dregs: Hall of Triumph was played twice, didn't help at all. Void Snare was basically useless. Wall of Frost Shouldn't have even been sided into the deck in the first place.

Deck Changes: Needed more card draw so I added these cards accordingly

-1 Bident of Thassa -2 Stubborn Denial -1 Crippling Chill -1 Void Snare +2 Divination (Debating on switching Weave Fate) +1 Ghost fire blade +2 Military Intelligence

Match 2 (Golgari Midrange) 2-0: With my newly polished deck in hand I went up against the perfect opponent. You guessed it, good ole' super slow midrange. I actually wasnt able to tell what his deck really was because he just got bad draws both games. I didnt really learn much from this game except for the fact that I don't like Void Snare at all

Game 1: Was able to get off Loyal Pegasus + Ornithopter + Springleaf Drum on a lucky draw. Then I played Military Intelligence and played cards I drew from that. I used 2 Ensoul Artifact which that was helpful in dealing with his Rakshasa Deathdealer I had 3 Void snares in hand at one point, all of which i used, they didn't really help much at all. Before he died he had 3 life, I had 18. All in all a pretty decent game.

Sideboard:

-1 Stubborn Denial -3 Void Snare +2 Crippling Chill +1 Wall of Frost +1 Negate

Game 2: Played Ornithopter and Triton Shorestalker. Turn two I put Ensoul Artifact on Ornithopter I started with a Military Intelligence so I ended up playing it and eventually drawing another. From that, I drew two more Ornithopter, an Ensoul Artifact, and an Hour of Need. Absolute carnage

MVPs: Darksteel Citadel + Ensoul Artifact Ornithopter + Springleaf Drum

Dregs: Void Snare to me was a bad stall that doesn't really help much unless you are playing against an outlast or heroic deck. Stubborn Denial, although an O.K. Card wasn't very helpful, even in games against control.

Deck Changes:

-2 Void Snare +2 Singing Bell Strike

Match 3 (Abzan Aggro/Midrange) 0-2: This match consisted of getting destroyed by Siege Rhino, [Heroes Downfall]], and Thoughtseize. There were too many times where I had to chump block his creatures and after that I wouldn't draw anything I needed. In the end, I think I would attribute the loss to some bad draws and not enough ways to deal with big guys like Siege Rhino

Game 1: Got out that sweet, sweet turn 1 Loyal Pegasus + Ornithopter + Springleaf Drum then Military Intelligence the next turn. I figured I had this game in the bag with 5 creatures and him at 10 life. He had been chipping my life down the whole game as well (I think I was at 11) He was able to swing at me with three creatures which I had to chump or I would lose. Then he played Siege Rhino and just absolutely curb-stomped my creatures.

Sideboard:

-1 Void Snare -2 Crippling Chill +1 Wall of Frost +1 Negate +1 Polymorphist's Jest

Game 2: I was able to get off the turn 1 Loyal Pegasus + Ornithopter + Springleaf Drum again. This one lasted a bit longer, I think at 1 point I had 6 Creatures out thanks to Military Intelligence until I had to use them to chump AGAIN. I was a turn away from winning with Polymorphist's Jest until he used Thoughseize and discarded it. I needed some more ways to block creatures so I made some changes and added Triton Tactics

MVPs: Ensoul Artifact + Ornithopter Military Intelligence

Dregs: I was totally done with Void Snare. It just gets in the way. Hall of Triumph doesn't usually get played at 3 CMC anyway, and this deck isn't too aggressive, so I'm going to take it out.

Deck Changes:

-3 Hall of Triumph -1 Void Snare -11 Island +11 Island F (While waiting for this match to end I just got these and a few other foil lands for $4) +4 Triton Tactics

Match 4 (Jeskai Prowess/Aggro) 2-0: This was actually my favorite match to play. Both games were down to the wire, but I had enough creatures at the end to finish him off.

Game 1: He leads off with a Monastery Swiftspear and swings for 1. I lead off with Loyal Pegasus + Ornithopter + Springleaf Drum and was actually able to do lots of early damage. Then he put 2 Dragon Mantle on his Monastery Swiftspear for card draw. He did some nice damage with Dragon Mantle + Monastery Swiftspear but not before I got off 2 Military Intelligence and drew into a ton of creatures. I gave Triton Tactics some use and didn't let him swing at me for a solid 4 turns. He played Jeskai Ascendancy and pumped his creature up to a 7/7 and then I ended up just chumping the 7/7 and killing him next turn.

Sideboard:

-2 Crippling Chill -1 Triton Tactics +1 Master of the Waves +2 Negate

Game 2: My favorite game all night, I lead off with Ornithopter + Ornithopter + Springleaf drum + Loyal Pegasus and used Ensoul Artifact Next Turn. He put out a Monastery Swiftspear and a Jeskai Student the turn after that but he only lasted 4 turns before I demolished him with Ensoul Artifact + Ornithopter and Loyal Pegasus.

MVPs: Ensoul Artifact + Ornithopter and Springleaf Drum

Dregs: Didn't really notice many this game and all changes that I might have made after that will be posted in the decklist.

I apologize for any bad grammar and or repition, I wrote this at 1 in the morning so I was a little tired

FNM #1 Recap:

MVPs: Loyal Pegasus + Ornithopter + Springleaf Drum Ghostfire Blade + Ornithopter Showed up in pretty much every match and helped in getting a lot of decent damage done.

Dregs: As I said before Void Snare Was basically useless. Wall of Frost didn't even block single creature. Criplling Chill CMC is a bit high for this deck so I am probably going to switch it for something else.

A Few Notes: This was actually a very fun deck to play with and see what needed to be changed. It just feels like there is a group of 4-8 cards that are constantly being changed which I need to find permanent fillers for. Singing Bell Strike wasn't used at all just because I didn't draw them so I have no idea if they work well in this deck or not. My sideboard was a little helpful but it needs to be ironed out more. If some of the deck changes I wrote down don't make sense or don't correspond to the deck right now, It's my fault for not remembering to write down my exact changes. For some reason I have 3 Triton Shorestalker instead of 4 which I am going to change. I will also be adding Heliod's Pilgrim for Ensoul Artifact This deck Is so great because of the possibility to play your entire hand turn 1 or just use Ensoul Artifact on Ornithopter or Darksteel Citadel. If you are looking for fun, cheap, and actually pretty effective standard deck, I would highly recommend this one. Remember to comment on changes you think I should make and I will definitely keep posting updates in the future. Thanks, all for any support you give this deck, remember to +1 if you like this deck and I will work on it if people seem to like it.
