Hey Everybody! This is my first attempt at a "competitive" EDH deck! I would like to give a huge shout-out to Hayes and his Spicy Brews: Breya Eggs (www.commandersociety.com/breya-eggs). He wrote a pretty extensive primer on this deck strategy and I took a lot of inspiration from his list.

Let me begin by saying my game-plan is very similar to his (and all 'egg' decks), with a few key differences in card choice.

Key cards I chose NOT to run:

Open the Vaults I'm weary of giving all my opponents their enchantments back and the converted mana cost is really high.

Roar of Reclamation Too much mana, would rather have smaller incremental advantage than big mana plays.

Thopter Foundry Decided this combo was a little too clunky. It requires 4 pieces to work: foundry, sword, krark clan, and breya. (It generates infinite colorless mana, so you still need to have the colors to get breya on the field during the combo turn. Too many hoops!)

Sword of the Meek See Above.

Ashnod's Altar I find this card really underwhelming. It acts as a replacement krark-clan in the Nim Deathmantle combo and thats it.

The replacements:

Ad Nauseam 1.94 average cmc ... lets draw 20 cards!

Yawgmoth's Will can rebuild from a wipe and provides interesting lines.

Isochron Scepter The replacement for the sword//thopter foundry combo. I think having three distinct combos feels good. The dramatic scepter line feels cleaner and more concise than the alternative.

Dramatic Reversal See Above.

Salvaging Station A pet card. Probably not the most slot efficient, but i love having this thing in play. Gives me a lot of control and flexibility.

What's Next!

I've been able to test this deck out a few times online, and I've really enjoyed it. I definitely need some more practice piloting it though. I'm in the process of proxying the $$ cards so I can play the deck in paper.

I'm seeking ideas and suggestions to help the deck come along.

Thanks,

Chewbaklava
