This is an attempt of building a semi-competitive Mizzix deck.

Introduction

Under the commander tier list, Mizzix is currently ranked tier 2 and does not often see play in the competitive EDH scene. This is probably due to the deck's game play, which requires us to rely on the commander in order for the deck to function effectively. Plus, Storm or Combo is played better using Grixis colors and being in Izzet means that we lack black mana for additional rituals, tutors and win conditions. So instead of relying on Mizzix alone, I have added a few wizards in the deck for games that have a very slow start or games where Mizzix has been sent to the command zone multiple times.

So Why Play Mizzix?

Mizzix was my first EDH deck and has been my favorite commander ever since she was spoiled. If you are an Izzet wizard like me that enjoys spell slinging and wishes for a more competitive EDH Izzet deck build, then this is the deck for you. It has a wizard sub theme and I have tuned it down to be less competitive (Since my playgroup does not play cEDH).

1) Reiterate (With Buyback) + Turnabout / Reality Spasm + Blue Sun's Zenith

2) Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal + Aetherflux Reservoir
