Sideboard

Instant (6)

Enchantment (3)

This is the first draft of a brew. I enjoy playing Boar-God in legacy. Turn 1 stompy wins tagging it with emrakul/worldspine. Then I saw Terror of Mount Velus & realized tagged with boar can put 22 potential dmg on the board.

The deck is simple in that it works much like a ramp deck. Trying to hit those marks for 1/3/5 mana tiers. In the end you're looking to get out a boar as early as possible to drop bombs with. I had thought about doing it as a fires build but that requires having 5 lands in play, which is tougher in standard by turn 3. Having 5 mana by turn is easier when you avoid Fires.

Domri is a mana ramper & he protects getting the combo out. Also his neg is a fight. The 4cc domri is a back up for mana plus can search for pieces to reload with. Def trying to figure out the ratio of these two. 4/2 or 4/3.

Would love any tips or tricks as this is a rough draft I came up with on the commute to work. Mana base is as stock as possible.

After testing realized that Klothys is a beast in this deck. Upped the count to 3. Great turn 2. Also, I miss real one drop mana dorks. Grazer is cool & the goose is loose but gimme my elves!

Updated the mana base. Field of ruin & passage help feed the Klothys.

Added one more Chaos Bringer. It's riot add & ability to stock up on beasts is huge if you don't hit the boar on turn 3.

Sideboard added. Helps deal with control & enchantments which I keep seeing in the local meta.

Full weekend of testing and the list has really evolved. The standard meta is very quick thanks to red-aggro. I trimmed my non-creature slots down to 31 (23 lands, 8 spells). Rhythm of the wild went from sideboard to maindeck pretty early in testing. When your creatures can't attack until the next turn it makes sense to cast this first then let them all be hasty. It's more efficient use of mana. Same reason for Spellbreaker & Questing Beast. They help support turns 2 & 3 at those mana tiers. Plus neither is bad end game.

Speed of the meta made Klothys more a sideboard card & eventually dropped from the deck entirely.

The other big include was Kiora. She mana fixes plus pretty much everything in the deck is p4 or more meaning card draw. Great synergy with Ilharg to make the free attack worth a draw too. When it came to mana I dropped the Grazers because they don't add mana but speed up land drops, which lvls out after turn 3/4. The incubation druid is a great back up mana dork that can become a bigger threat end game. Also nice trick is having RotW down & giving Druid a counter so he enters producing 3 mana or if you have both Grumgully & RotW down you can haste & counter for insta-Lotus.

Excited to keep playing this and I believe the next set will have amazing cards for this shell.

In building around boar added a few more ETB variation to the deck. Finisher is still pairing the boar with either terror or Rhonas but Wurm helps add some destruction option & Ox is a great reload. I found too many Ox made this feel flooded & Cav of Flame didn't draw but cycle the hand. Kiora being added took off the pressure to include card draw in the 5 slot. Still trying to figure out if 1 or 2 Ox is best.

Finally added to Castle Embereth. It helps finish especially if you have boar down & are free casting an attacker form hand leaving mana open to pump.

Got in another night of testing. Deck is settling in. One new addition was leveling out my 3/4 drops which should tighten up my turn 2/3 play. Added Wicked Wolf. Even without a food in play he can help take out those 3T creatures. With a food in play he's a force. Also gives Goose more value. Plus WW is great with BoarGod to help pick off chump blockers & he becomes super strong with Grumgully or RotW down.

Now my 3/4 slots are evened out & will probably be the switch-outs for sideboard depending on match up.
