1v1 Budget Yisan, Wanderer Bard

This is an on going project for sharing with local players in my LGS who are looking to get into 1v1 EDH for FNM and would like to see some lists that can perform well without a huge price-point. You DO NOT need to spend a ton of money to make a competitive list that can top at your local LGS.

This is the only list over $100 dollars due to Craterhoof Behemoth being so expensive. He makes up nearly 1/3rd of the budget but creates insane instant-win value. You can cut him from the list if you like and use Gigantomancer in his place to win but Craterhoof is one of the best cards in the deck. If you are serious about building Yisan, then get yourself a Craterhoof ASAP.

Mulligans: It is imperative that you keep a hand that can turn 2 Yisan. So use the London Mulligan to aggressively mulligan until you find a hand that can do so. With so many turn 1 dorks and ramp spells this should not be difficult. Don't worry about going down in hand size. The deck can auto pilot itself to victory once Yisan is alive. If you have protection spells then keep them, there is a very small window in which Yisan is vulnerable to spot removal so you want to be able to cover that with protection as best you can.

Typical Yisan chains:

1. Sylvan Safekeeper [This provides you instant speed 0 mana shroud to protect Yisan. Just having this on the field will deter most spot removal and be a hindrance until they can remove it.
2. Scryb Ranger [This will allow you to untap Yisan for multiple activation's a turn and speed out a quick 8th verse.
3. Wood Elves [Mana is nice]
4. Karametra's Acolyte [Moooore mana]
5. Whisperwood Elemental [Fits the curve as the most high value target. Alternatively you can grab the stag for removal for something with 4 or less toughness]
6. Great Oak Guardian [Instant pump and untap your board]
7. Hornet Queen [Spits out many bodies to combo with your 8th verse]
8. Craterhoof Behemoth [ WIN THE GAME ]
