Description

Love to hear feedback and tips on how to make her more brutal, cut-throat, and punishing. I am also giddy with excitement to have her be my Archenemy! (I have 2 copies of all 70 schemes; 140 in total so I would love to hear which schemes you think are worth it!)

If I was you, I would replace Wheel of Fortune with Fumigate, just to be an asshole. Also, You could pull Blood Moon for Dictate of the Twin Gods.Pull Talisman of Indulgence for Gilded Lotus.

Nice build. +1. Fellow Kaalia of the Vast player Kaalia, the Purifier

I would run a Boros Charm and probably a Crucible of Worlds with Armageddon and Ravages of War.

Path to Exile is an inexpensive control.

Maralen of the Mornsong has an interesting synergy with your Stranglehold and is inline with your shut-down flavor of this deck.

Thanks Spirits! I will strongly consider Maralen the question then comes to what would I possibly take out?! Ahhhhh the torture! LOL

Mabye blade of selves it's like a kiki giki but costs less at least for casting I kind of view it as if you don't have anything to do you'll probably have 4 mana at your desposal and it's a artifact so usually won't be taken out as easy. Or my two non creature cards that give extra attack passes. My only real concern is if I don't have strangle hold in hand or on the field it's just a dead card if both are out and they take out stranglehold now they have plenty of chances to get answers to Kaalia. That's the same reason I don't run path to exile cause it gives them the chance to get mana for answers to play.

I usually try to run great shutdown stuff that compliments each other but is not contengent or reliant on each other particularly if it's only one card that it runs great with. _

I saw your Kaalia good stuff! I know master of cruelties is not what we all first hoped lol but is still great if someone has infinite life great now you have a chance to take it back to 1 and even though you have to wait one turn it will draw all kinda hate away from kallia and it puts people in a very bad position! :)

I would consider Kederekt Parasite, his damage might be inconsequential once the angels/dragons/demons start attacking.

Blade of Selves for sure, only equips one creature, and the 4 is pretty high cmc for equip, plus it doesn't allow Kaalia of the Vast to multi-tigger, so not necessary. Can't equip it either during the attack, so only really myriads a creature that's survived a round or 2, which means it isn't a big enough threat probably that it matters to anyone anyway.

Victory's Herald maybe, he's good, CMC 6 for a 4/4 isn't that great, but his Lifelink is nice, it doesn't trigger off of a Kaalia of the Vast drop in though, so just for that reason could consider cutting him, but then again the next turn lifelink is appetizing. Gisela, the Broken Blade instead? or Baneslayer Angel

If you need enchantment like Stranglehold or Dragon Tempest or ... you have 9, you can run Enlightened Tutor and/or Idyllic Tutor

Not sure what you mean about Master of Cruelties? He is my #1 creature, I always Vampiric Tutor or Demonic Tutor. Kaalia of the Vast + Master of Cruelties (unblocked) = Eliminate Opponent. Not sure if you confused on this guy, but errata ruling is pretty clear.

4/15/2013 An ability that triggers when something attacks and isnt blocked triggers in the declare blockers step after blockers are declared if (1) that creature is attacking and (2) no creatures are declared to block it. It will trigger even if that creature was put onto the battlefield attacking rather than having been declared as an attacker in the declare attackers step.

Spirits as I understand and people who play at my LGS who know a lot more than me said yes part of masters trigger matters in regard to not being blocked but it's also contengent on being part of declared attacker not just attacking. Were can I find this errata so I can prove this to my LGS.

I also could take out blade of selves for Boris charm instead of maralen just because it's far more veritile.

The reason I love running kederekt parasite is the 1 cost is very easy to fit in to already doing stuff. He works wonders with wheel of fortune and dragon mage not to mention if I have a extra combat with dragon mage or a damage doubler out everyone take 7-14 to the face cause of this little one drop and that doesn't even include combat damage! Lol

Yeah I like creatures that add generally to all my creatures or take away from my opponent

Hi BigJohneyBoy

Magic the Gathering - Wizards - Gatherer is the official errata site for Magic the Gathering.

Even if a card is printed different, which many are, for example Karmic Guide, you have to play by the Oracle rule.

In addition, they publish specific rulings on cards that are unclear, or have questionable interactions.

In the case of Master of Cruelties, using this link http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=368981, you will find several rulings, the one that clarifies the interaction that you are discussing, ie: if he didn't attack, does his if he is not blocked trigger, and when does it trigger, it is very clearly laid out.

Rulings 4/15/2013 An ability that triggers when something attacks and isnt blocked triggers in the declare blockers step after blockers are declared if (1) that creature is attacking and (2) no creatures are declared to block it. It will trigger even if that creature was put onto the battlefield attacking rather than having been declared as an attacker in the declare attackers step.

1) Triggers in the "Declare Blockers Step, After Blockers are Declared"2) It further clarifies the ruling "It will trigger even if that creature was put onto the battlefield attacking rather than having been declared as an attacker"

It's very clearly been ruled.

1) Attack with Kaalia of the Vast

2) Trigger Kaalia of the Vast Whenever Kaalia of the Vast attacks an opponent tigger, and put a Master of Cruelties onto the battlefield tapped an attacking.

3) After blockers have been declared, IF: Master of Cruelties is attacking (do not confuse with attacked), AND, No creatures were declared blocking it, you will trigger Master of Cruelties, and the opponents life will become 1.

4) Master of Cruelties says Master of Cruelties assigns no combat damage this combat, so he can't kill the opponent, however, Kaalia of the Vast is still attacking (and assuming unblocked), will resolve 2 points of combat damage to that player. That players life is 1 during the declare blockers step. So when Kaalia of the Vast hits for 2 during the combat damage step, she eliminates an opponent, if no other effects like Angel's Grace or Platinum Angel, etc are in effect.

Works exactly as intended an expected with Kaalia of the Vast. They can lookup the rulings on http://gatherer.wizards.com/ if they are still unsure, but this is 100% how it works. They've been robbing you of victories! :)

Ok you were right on crulties I just did it know how to check rulings. That's so cool!

My rule so far for the deck is sense I have no intention on lands being a thing after Kaalia is out makes 6 rather high so I say 5 or less CMC if I can't cheat them out and most of those cards are less than 5. When I first started making the deck I had a bunch of cards like desolation angel the black on that destroys lands but she had to be cast and for that price I could have just put in another mass land destruction.

I was disappointed to find out that Reiner demon requires casting I used to run him in my deck till I found that out.

Reiver Demon and Desolation Angel don't work in this case.

Really dislike this because of the new Bruna, the Fading Light. No Brisela, Voice of Nightmares for me.

If you click the little person in the top right, then click on your name BigJohneyBoy, it will show your main wall etc.

Just underneath the comment section you will see "Comment Tutorial", read through that, shows how you can us [ around a card, how you can ( ) to set the set, *F to set it foil, etc. If you've never done it, should also show up with a yellow arrow next to it just to the right of the comment box below your decks.

When you are writing a comment, you will see some boxes ontop of the window too.

The B is bold, I is italic, H is heading.

The little chainlink looking one, lets you enter a hyperlink http://. If you open your deck you can copy and paste the hyperlink after clicking the chainlink. Or any website http:// link. You can also use the symbol, looks like a book, that's "decklink", uses the SLUG of your deck, if you pull up your deck, tappedout.net/mtg-decks/19-09-16-kaalia-of-the-vast/, 19-09-16-kaalia-of-the-vast is your SLUG, thats what you decklink uses. You can always rename your deck, and while in edit mode click the "Reset SLUG" checkbox before saving to reset your slug to the new deck name.

The little person symbol allows you to enter another players name like user:BigJohneyBoy with the [ around them. Click the head it puts the formatting in, you just enter the username.

The picture looking one is an image.

The paper with a folder corner lets you add a card link, or you can do the [ card name like in the tutorial.

The drop one lets you put in mana symbols, the other three i've never used lol.
