Shattergang Brothers

Commander / EDH BRG (Jund)

gianbenny1

A sacrifice/stax deck in built for multiplayer. The power level is not even close to cEDH and suite perfectly with a forfun mid-to-high-power metagame. Our main plan early is to sculpt our advantage through ramping, doing politics (to stop combo players, faster decks) and begginning to develop our board with cards like Revel in Riches and the several Sac Outlets. In earlygame with this deck you are, usually, the weakest player of the fourth, so watch out and be conservative! The mid game is where this deck begins to shine, successfully locking other players in a situation where they cannot develop their plans due to our Shattergang Brothers triggers. Meanwhile we are creating ton of advantages to overwhelm opponents with. This deck all resolves around few cards, which are the engines. Engines could be mana makers, C.A. (Card Advantage) makers or also creatures makers. The deck wins thanks to a series of small advantages, and engines are the way to build up those. Another important part of the deck is composed by stax cards, which allows us to lock enemies out of the game. I've chosen to not include some of the best stax-type cards in my build because they would have been too unfair for my metagame.

Matchup-wise this deck struggles against fast combo decks or Tokens decks. Also graveyard decks can be a pain in the ass due to their redundancy. Shattergang Brothers usually tends to crush aggro and voltron decks because of the ability to force players to sacrifice creatures, equipments and auras. Thanks to the ability to remove artifacts, it can also easily handle other stax decks if they dont impose a strong lock too early. Against value decks such as Haldan, Avid Arcanist/Pako, Arcane Retriever, Tatyova, Benthic Druid, card:Rashmi, Eternity Crafter and so on, I think you are 50-50. Concerning the control MatchUp I think Shatter is aheadbecause of the grindiness it can bring in the mid-to-late phase of the game.
