Hoarding Treasure: Pirate Oathbreaker

Oathbreaker GU (Simic) Tokens

PirateCptAstera

Sideboard

Backup Signature Spells (2)

Oathbreaker themed around Pirates and similar oceanic themes (Merfolk and sea creatures).

Main function of this deck is building up treasure tokens in order to continuously counter spell with Assert Authority as well as bringing out Kiora for Octopus/Kraken generation. Both of these effects reflect the overwhelming power of the ocean.

With so much hoarded treasure, Thoughtcast should be able to be used almost constantly even with commander tax and can keep my draw power high. For counters, we have Lullmage Mentor and the accompanying merfolk should also be able to help us keep things locked down, especially if we get token generation ramped up. As long as we have 3 token doubling sources, we can counter infinitely using Lullmage's activated ability, (I call this the council of coral). We also have a slew of pirate themed spells which also generate more treasure! These combined with Tamiyo, the Moon Sage 's emblem will allow for constant lockdown and extra treasure generation.

Lux Cannon (The ship's broadside) will do heavy lifting in clearing bigger threats (especially with generating double tokens each tap and growth from blinking Deepglow Skate

Graveyard recursion from Tamiyo, the Moon Sage (Chart navigator) should also allow us to make multiple use of Druid's Deliverance for protection, Siren's Ruse for draw power + treasure hoarding, Tinker to easily pull out all our artifacts, and Planewide Celebration for utility.

Blinkmoth Infusion is sideboarded for those times we anticipate a "Captain! Look!" moment, Really only effects Lux Cannon , Empowered Autogenerator , and Skyclave Relic but those moments could be crucial, and with the amount of treasure we should have pilfered, easy to cast.

Main Win-con is Whelming Wave with either Tamiyo creating multiple sea horrors, but can also be achieved with simple overwhelming from generating Corsair Captain copies + other pirates. Because really who could stand up to a bevy of giant sea creatures, or an absolute horde of armed-to-the teeth swashbucklers thirsty for even more treasure?

Have Assert Authority on the sideboard in case we want to put on a more aggressive face. With this, we can drop some other counters in favour of some more fun spells and enchantments.

Early game will be slow, but the potential for ramp in this deck is scary, especially with so many answers for bigger threats, which as long as we can survive those, we hit them with BIGGER ones ourselves later.
