In my opinion, Kaalia performs most admirably in the 1v1 setting when she can focus on hunting down a single target with hand hate and stax pieces. I've prepared a small sideboarding guide with recommended card swaps to maximize efficiency and resiliency when focusing on a single opponent. Check it out below!

COMBO BREAKDOWNS & SIDEBOARD GUIDE COMING SOON

I put a ton of time and thought into this build and am currently working on foiling it out. I feel it's pretty close to optimized for the meta I usually encounter but any suggestions or criticisms are very welcome!

She felt empty. It was as if her insides had been torn out, leaving only a dark void in their place. "I'll kill them," she whispered, fighting back hot tears and slowly squeezing her ravaged, blooded fingers into a tight fist. Drops of blood trickled from her trembling knuckles to the earth before her. "I'll kill them...I'll kill them all." It didn't matter when or how, but she would find a way to make them suffer. She lifted her head, eyes searching outward to the distant horizon before rising from her knees. In the vast wilderness...that is where she would find her revenge.

If you have any suggestions or criticisms I'd love to hear them. Don't forget to +1 if you like the list. Thank you for viewing!

Updates Add

I have officially tuned this list to function primarily in 1v1 EDH (not duel commander).

Notable changes include the following:
+1 Tidehollow Sculler
+1 Mesmeric Fiend
+1 Thoughtseize
+1 Inquisition of Kozilek
+1 Duress
+1 Castigate
+1 Toxic Deluge
+1 Serra Ascendant

Now, we focus more on hating out our opponent's hand in the early game. This reduces the chance of any disruption of our Kaalia triggers. If we don't draw into any haste engines, protection pieces, or scary monsters, we become a control deck and keep our opponent as starved of resources as possible until we can swing in to end the game.
