Sideboard

Old archetype using Dreadhorde Arcanist.

The main idea of this deck it's cheap threats and recursive spells via the Arcanist.

The first time that decided to build this deck was after the release of war for the spark (may 2019) with the printing of Dreadhorde Arcanist and the potential value of recycle spells. Unlike Snapcaster Mage you can use the Arcanist ability more than once (also making him the target of removal from the opponent).

With the release of modern Horizons (june 2019) was introduced in the format cards like Pillage, Flusterstorm making more flexible the sideboard slots and the single copy of Reckless Charge in the main was the spice to obtain a threat with haste to close some matches.

With Ikoria release I'm going to try Sprite Dragon, it have evasion, it's cheap and have sinergy with our 29 noncreature-spells. Maybe it's more accurate to think in a shell with only Delver of Secrets + Sprite Dragon and more spells.

Deck Guide (second semester 2019):

The Rock ():

  • The most annoying creature it's Hexdrinker if they can level up it's imposible to get rid of it, try to kill it before that.
  • Some list use in main Scaveging Ooze, also try to kill before eat all your graveyar.
  • The rock unlike jund the mana base it is not as painful.
  • Your best creature in this match is the Delver because the evasion, the Young Pyromancer tokens are useful to slow down the Tarmo and the Ooze. Side: IN Flusterstorm x2 OUT Dreadhorde Arcanist x2

Jeskai Control (): - For this match the key is winning fast - If possible leave mana open to bluff countermagic and use spells instant speed - Do not play more than 2 threats, because of supreme verdict. - Some times can be wise killing your creatures or bouncing with Vapor Snag to prevent the life gain of Lightning Helix.

Side: IN Flusterstorm x2 OUT Spell Snare x1, Reckless Charge x1

Abzan Company (): - To delay them kill their mana dorks, also watch out for Vizier of Remedies it's a key piece to the deck combos. - After siderboard matches watch out for Burrenton Forge-Tender, use the Vapor Snag wisely, if they use it try to in your echoing thruth Side: IN Anger of the Gods x2 Out Reckless Charge x1, Dreadhorde Arcanist x1

Eldrazi Tron: - A difficult matchup it's important to bring in Ceremonius Rejection x2 when sideboarding. Pillage it's useful to destroy tron lands and artifacts like Oblivion Stone, Surgical Extraction can be added to the ecuation because can elimminate a big threat after countering it (karn, ugin) and alsothe sinergy with Pillage.

Urza's Thopter: - This match pre-side it's difficult if you can't win fast. - Pos side it's important to bring all the artifact hate Abrade + Pillage , also remember pumping the Dreadhorde Arcanist with Mutagenic Growth or Reckless Charge allows you to reuse artifact hate.

Infect: - The key it's using the removal patient, wait to play it in response to a pumping spell. also you can use it in your turn to make them use a pump spell meaning less damage during their turn. Side: IN Abrade x2, OUT Reckless Charge x1 Logic Knot x1; also you can consider to bring IN Flusterstorm x2 and OUT Young Pyromancer x2 because infect have evasion with the Blighted Agent + Inkmoth Nexus

Hardened Scales: - This match the key to victory is Young Pyromancer because most of their threats are big but don't have evasion , chump with elemental tokens until you can do a winner alpha attack. - Delver it's useful to hit in the air. - Their most threatful sinergy it's Arcbound Ravager + Hangarback Walker Side: IN Abradex2 OUT Spell Pierce x2, also you can bring IN Pillage

Deck Guide update (first semester 2020):

Burn(): - Because our mana curve it's low Eidolon of great revels = Biggest threat, kill it immediately. - Young Pyromancer is good to buy us time.

Mono Green Stompy(): - Because both decks are aggro nature the key is playing our deck more like a tempo deck. - Our vapor snag are our best removal vs their high power threaths, post sideboarding is important to brinq Anger of the Gods + Echoing Truth

Soul Sisters(): - Our plan vs this deck is keep the pressure up, they gain a ton of life. - Sometimes a Serra Ascendant can mean GG. - Tokens of Young Pyromancer are good to chump a big Ajani's Pridemate - Anger of the gods can kill almost all their creatures.
