I'm not running basics on purpose. If you read the accordion block youd see why. I'm running no basics so I can mill my library with the druid and win with Laboratory Maniac. I'm not that big of a moron.

First off, I don't think you need that many combos to make the deck effective. I would stick to ones that aren't clunky and can win you the game outright such as Hermit Druid although you seem to lack essential creatures such as Narcomoeba and Fatestitcher to help you flashback Dread Return Labman and go for the win.

Ironically, I think having Muldothra as your Commander actually hinders the deck a lot. With HD as your main win con, Muldothra would be a lot more accessible if you could have it come off the graveyard via spells like Dread Return, Reanimate, Necromancy etc. Cards like Lion's Eye Diamond and Phantasmal Image are some cards that can help you generate infinite mana using Muldothra. I would ditch the other infinite mana combos in favor of these and would go as far as to suggest using Thrasios and another partner commander instead.

You could check out my list as it runs pretty similar to yours.

Btw, Mana Vault won't help you much since (using your combos) the infinite mana it produces will only be around during your upkeep.

@Magalomania I fail to see how Muldrotha and Lion's eye Diamond cause an infinite mana combo. unless im missing a 3rd card that lets you get it back after saccing it multiple times.

Also.. Mana Vault can produce infinite mana during the upkeep and toss that mana inton Gemstone Array to save for later but you have to have Power Artifact on it first

I’m using Muldothra with Phantasmal Image, Necromancy and LED in my deck. It is a Thrasios-Tymna deck which is in some ways similar to this one.

Yeah. That would work. I just feel it’s too clunky.

that still doesnt explain how you re going infinite with Lion's Eye Diamond

I hate to plug my own deck in another person's page but here's a link to my list to give you a somewhat comprehensive explanation on how the entire combo works. again we're doing this off Hermit Druid meaning the entire library has been sent to the graveyard and assuming Muldothra is in play or he/she/it is not the commander and is in the deck.

Thank you guys for your responses, and I don't mind the insert Megalomania. The Lion's Eye Diamond and Phantasmal Image confused me at first as well. it took me about thirty minutes to really understand how to do it. This is what I got:

-Have Muldrotha and Hermit Druid in play.

-Use Hermit Druid to put your deck in the grave.

-Cast Lion's Eye Diamond (from your grave or from hand) and tap it for Blue.

-Then recast Lion's Eye Diamond using Muldrotha's Ability and tap it again for Black.

-Cast Phantasmal Image targeting Muldrotha and sacrifice the original Muldrotha to the grave.

-Play Lion's Eye Diamond again using the token of Muldrotha and tap it again for Green.

-Play the original Muldrotha from the grave and sacrifice Phantasmal Image

-Then repeat. You'll net BUG mana and generate infinite mana.

Almost. lol. You cast LED from the graveyard, tap it for to cast Phantasmal Image copying Muldothra. This allows you to send the original Muldothra to the graveyard, re-cast LED, tap for to cast Necromancy targeting the original Muldothra. With Muldothra now in play, you send Phantasmal Image back to the graveyard and re-start the loop. Each repetition will leaves you with one eventually allowing you to cast Labman and, in your case, Snapcaster Mage to flashback a draw spell for the win.

So you skip the extra cycle of Lion's Eye Diamond that I added in. I realized that with my weird combo you'd HAVE to cast LED from your hand and tap it rather than cast it from the yard.

Yes. Plus the setup I use does not have Muldothra as commander so I put it into play by casting Dread Return via its flashback cost. I think this is more important because you get to activate the entire combo with just and the right set of cards in the deck.

I understand what you're saying. Having her as the commander causes the set up to be slightly different. Thanks for the suggestion though. I like it.

I feel I should point out that Mega's combo also produces infinite mana of any color. If you net +1 U each cycle, after you produce an arbitrary amount of blue you no longer need it to cast Phantasmal Image and can replace each time you would tap LED for blue with whatever other color you want/need.

Also while I'm here...

Cards you might want to consider:

Entomb = Arguably one of the best tutors for Muldrotha.

Command Beacon = Never pay for command tax ever again.

Any extra turn spells = with your Eternal Witness and either Deadeye Navigator or a sac outlet gives you infinite turns. My list runs Walk the Aeons and Crucible of Worlds as well to let me just buyback each cast to the same effect.

Lotus Petal = insanely good early game

Pernicious Deed = this or anything like Nevinyrral's Disk. Being able to scrub the board every 1-2 turns can be pretty oppressive and help slow the game down until you can dig for your combo

Mindslicer = more of a pet card of mine than anything else really. With your yard being a second hand, putting everyone to topdeck mode doesn't really hurt you but it can absolutely cripple opponents and make it difficult for them to come up with answers.

Just some food for thought.

I still have the deck mostly proxied right now, so making edits will be easy. Thank you for the suggestions. I'll definitely check them out!

Have you thought about adding extra turns cards into the list?

There's also the Ad Nauseam + Second Chance combo with your commander.

October 1, 2018 1:36 a.m.

I don't really think the deck needs extra turn spells. I feel like the deck is in a VERY good spot at the moment. Especially with the multiple cards I added from Guilds. This deck already runs a ton of non-permanents, and some people would argue to many non-permanents. I run a ton of counter magic so I can stop people from winning and stop other from trying to stop me from winning. Adding extra turn combos and what not would just take up other valuable slots in the deck in my opinion; however, I am about to start building a Grixis Chaos deck with Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge at the helm. That'll most definitely run some extra turn goodness!

Let's put it in sum, playing Muldrotha costs 6 and playing Phantasmal Image costs 2 ,so they totally cost 8 while your LED can produce 6 after two Muldrotha's effect, this can not put you into infinity. And what Necromancy does is to reduce the Muldrotha's 6 to 3 and they will totally cost 5, and they produce 6 mana and it can go to infinity!

you can also use isocron scepter with dramatic reversal and enough mana rock for example

-use isocron septer with dramatic reversal imprinted -announce you are going to use isocron scepter for 2 -then tap enough mana rocs to generate 3 or more mana (also you cheat the monoliths) or use gilded lotus for colored mana

sorry not the best speller

use some transmute tutors too they are like three mana each and will make sure you can get your combo pices before you get muldrotha out

here is gatherer link http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&text=+[transmute]&color=+[U]

Mox Diamond and Deathrite Shaman go off a turn earlier.

Tainted Pact amazing tutor in a list without basics.
