Tronification, noun. the act or process of demolishing, obliterating, or annihilating an opponent by means of the three urza lands and a big ass artifact.

Urzatron is a deck that utilizes the three urza lands in order to "achieve tron" and have access to large amounts of mana. There are multiple varients of the deck, such as GR tron and U tron. GR tron is an aggressive deck that attempts to achieve tron as fast as possible and cast cards like Karn Liberated by turn three or four. This deck is the U tron version, and as opposed to GR tron, it is a control deck. Instead of achieving tron as fast as possible, the deck plays counter and tempo spells like Remand and Repeal to stall the game until the urza lands can be assembled. It then wins with a finisher such as Wurmcoil Engine or Sundering Titan.

At the first fnm been to with this deck, I won 2 out of 4 matches. I played pretty well and only made a few mistakes, none of which cost me any matches. Here are the matchups I had:

Match 1 vs Splinter Twin, 2-0 win: These games were basically draw go for the entire time. In each game, we both built up lands until there was a giant counter war at the end. I came out on top due to my huge amounts of mana, and then dropped a finisher. Game 1 it was Wurmcoil Engine which did the trick, and game two I destroyed his hand with Mindslaver. He was holding two Splinter Twins at the time, and I put one on my soemn simulacrum and one on my Treasure Mage. Not even the two Ancient Grudge he drew were enough to keep me from winning.

Match 2 vs UR Storm, 2-1 loss: I was able to win one of the games with Platinum Angel, but in the other two, he went off too fast. Repealing his Pyromancer Ascension wasn't enough, and due to my lack of spot removal, Goblin Electromancer was a huge issue.

Match 3 vs Infect, 2-1 win: I lost game one due to a stupid mistake. He was swinging in with a Glistener Elf and an Inkmoth Nexus, and I had a repeal in hand. I was only able to deal with one of the threats and he played Become Immense in the other. What I had forgotten, was that I had a Tectonic Edge in play which would have destroyed the nexus. Luckily, I won games two and three with Platinum Angel and Spellskite.

Match 4 vs GR Kiln Fiend, 2-1 loss: This deck was extremely fast and there was nothing I could do game one. He beat me down with monestary swiftspears + Rancors and other pump spells and then bolted me to death. Game two I was able to drop Spellskite early and then drop Platinum Angel. I came very close to winning game three, as I dropped a Wurmcoil Engine while I was down to four life. Unfortunately, he was holding an Apostle's Blessing which gave his gigantic swiftspear pro artifacts.

Overall, I did pretty well, and there wasn't much I could do about the games I lost. Platinum Angel was definitely the mvp of the night, as it stopped every deck I played (it got Ancient Grudged when I played twin, but that just cleared the way for Wurmcoil Engine). Also, I've decided to test 2 Negate instead of Spell Pierce and 2 Relic of Progenitus instead of Hurkyl's Recall.
