A defensive Sliver deck, aimed at quickly getting out the right cards and establishing a defensive line with a lot of small, cheap slivers that make each other pretty massive pretty quickly: a very fun deck to play with.
Because of Budget restraints,
Crystalline Sliver
s were substituted for
Diffusion Sliver
s. Still, combined with Sliver Hivelord, your creatures will be pretty safe.
Spinneret Sliver
+
Striking Sliver
+
Venom Sliver
is a good defensive combo.
Homing Sliver
s and
Read the Bones
are some of the most important cards here. Their job is to help get out the right slivers without simply having to draw phase my way through the deck.
Cancel and Negate are just to help with control, in case they pull out some kind of exile card on your Hivelord. Similarly, you have
Venom Sliver
s and
Suspension Field
s to take care of anything really big or annoying.
Claustrophobia
s help with that too.
Predatory Sliver, Sidewinder Sliver and
Striking Sliver
are in there for offense.
Evolving Wilds, Gemhide Slivers and Sliver Hives make sure you can keep up with the color diversity.
Shadow Sliver
was added into the sideboard, which can be switched in for the Spinneret Slivers and
Venom Sliver
s to make a more aggro deck. I would rather have used flying than shadow, but
Galerider Sliver
is pretty expensive to buy, and Winged Sliver is no longer modern. I also added some Lightning Strikes and extra Cancels and
Read the Bones
, and a few
Leeching Sliver
s to the sideboard to make that option more viable.
