Karn, Silver Golem: Artifact synergy to the maximum.

The deck is an artifact combo based deck and aims to win by producing infinite mana & winning, often through Karn, Silver Golem's ability, but there are many other ways to do this as well, but we'll get into that later. Playing a colorless deck is quite restricting and can feel quite janky, however it is tons of fun.

Infinite mana combos

There are quite a lot of ways to generate infinite mana in this deck.

• Su-Chi, Wurmcoil Engine or Myr Battlesphere + Krark-Clan Ironworks + Nim Deathmantle
• Any three mana producing mana rock + Karn, Silver Golem + Voltaic Construct
• {2} + Rings of Brighthearth + Basalt Monolith

An honorable mention to Clock of Omens & Voltaic Key, as they are in itself able to create a ton of mana. (R.I.P Paradox Engine).

Winning the game

Once you have infinite mana, you will need a place to put it in order to win the game. Often you will need some way of continuously untapping your artifacts, like Karn, Silver Golem + Voltaic Construct.

• Codex Shredder: Mill everyone out.
• Staff of Nin: Ping everyone to death.
• Magistrate's Scepter: infinite extra turns.
• Lux Cannon: infinite amount of Vindicates.
• Erratic Portal: Bounce everything.
• Karn, Silver Golem + Mycosynth Lattice: destroy all lands your opponents control.
• Staff of Domination: basically everything.

The restrictions of colorless

While colorless is fun, you have to get creative in order to interact with other players and protect your stuff.

Removal?

Removal in colorless is pretty alright, but often slightly more expensive.

• scour from existance: even at instant speed!
• Steel Hellkite: can remove pretty much anything after it deals combat damage.
• Duplicant, Ugin, the Spirit Dragon & Karn Liberated can all exile the things you don't want on the board.
• Nevinyrral's Disk & All is Dust can reset the board, and all is dust just sets your opponents back a notch.

Protection?

Protecting your stuff can be a little more challenging, but not impossible!

• Darksteel Forge: protects your artifacts and can win you the game with Nevinyrral's Disk + Mycosynth Lattice
• Null Brooch: a counter that can be re-used at the small price of discarding your hand.
• Kozilek, the Great Distortion: card draw on cast and gives you some much needed control!
• Nim Deathmantle: can resurrect your board with enough mana + Karn, Silver Golem, or just some key pieces.
• Maze of Ith & Glacial Chasm give you some protection from creatures and may extend the game enough for you to come out ahead.

Card advantage?

There are more than enough card draw or tutor effects in the deck.

• Mind's Eye, Tower of Fortunes,...
• Planar Portal, Planar Bridge,...

The unexpected all-star of the deck

This award goes to Akroma's Memorial. While it might seem useless in a deck running only 13 creatures it is often very key to enable your combo. Since animated artifacts are affected by summoning sickness you must be very careful when to play your combo pieces or the inability to tap them might just cost you the game. The memorial get's you past this pesky little detail! Plus it can also serve as an additional win condition. Your opponents will never expect you to swing with about 20 flying, first strike, vigilance, trample, haste, pro red & black artifacts!
