Doran, the Siege Tower

Synopsis

This is a Doran EDH deck with a treefolk creature sub-theme. The general idea is to squeeze every bit of toughness as possible out of cheap cards like Kami of Old Stone in addition to other antics that work well with Doran, such as cheap toughness pump a la Tower Defense. I know this deck has a poor mana base at the moment, but I'm currently trying to keep it on the cheaper side. Additionally, this is by no means a competitive deck, but I'd like it to be good.

That being said, it's a work in progress, and any feedback is appreciated!

Creatures

Other than getting the most bang for my buck out of high toughness creatures (not much can beat a 5/5 flier for 4 mana! Dancing Scimitar ), I tried to maximize synergy between creatures. I'll also try to explain some of the maybe weirder choices.

Abzan Beastmaster: Even though I'm essentially getting a 1/1 for 3 mana, it's extremely likely that his ability will trigger every upkeep for me unless I'm playing against another Doran deck.

Bosk Banneret : Or any other treefolk in the deck for that matter; most of the tribe combos with each other. 16/34 creatures in my deck are treefolk, so he'll be able to combo with 47% of the creatures.

Crenellated Wall : Tap to give any creature I own +4/+4. 'Nuff said.

Magnigoth Treefolk : With landwalk green, black, and white, it won't be uncommon for him to be an unblockable 6/6.

Palace Guard : Not too good on his own, but hopefully I'll draw into Slagwurm Armor or some other toughness buff to make him a big blocker.

Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker : The big player in this deck. Makes cards that are essentially 7/7's due to Doran's ability as expendable as a 1/1. Anything with high toughness and power 1 or lower synergizes with this. 18/34 creatures have power 0 or 1, so that's around 53% of them.

Village Bell-Ringer: Lets you swing with everything and only spend 3 mana to open up all your blockers.
