Looking for a few good wolves... —March 10, 2015
For a while I was really excited when I saw Atarka's Command spoiled... but then I read the full text and discovered it didn't destroy anything as one of the options, thus dashing my hopes of getting a more versatile version of Destructive Revelry for the same mana cost. That and the fact that WotC keeps printing all the new fight cards at sorcery speed or out of my colors (or in the case of Swift Kick, on terrible cards) suggests that like Fate Reforged before it, nothing in the upcoming set is likely to make it onto this list. Which is a shame, as I could really use a replacement for Pit Fight (if only Savage Punch wasn't a sorcery!). We'll have to see what the rest of the spoilers look like, but I'm not holding out too much hope that my silly werewolf/wolf tribal deck is going to find much ammunition from this block (apart from the new dual land, which was certainly appreciated). We'll have to see if the new Origins set or the return to Zendikar contain any wolf/wolf-adjacent cards for consideration.
Edit: After some thought, I decided that "bad Fall of the Hammer" was still a good enough card to replace Pit Fight, and so Tail Slash made the list after all. Would really prefer that to be less mana, but I'll take what I can get.
