Big Angel Tribal

Big Powerful Ladies With Even Bigger Swords

Probably my favorite EDH deck I own, it has a very simple goal: get everyone on to the battlefield and start pounding away at the enemy (or, enemies). These ladies are also fantastic defenders, considering their massive size and threatening disposition, so use them tactically, and hold back when you need to. Sublime Archangel is very good for situations like this, allowing you to throw out one lady to deal some damage, buffed from glorious exaltation by her kin.

Sideboard are other commanders I've been considering; I've been trying out a few other commanders, but Samut's just been the one that's doing it for me. She's aggressive, makes all my other creatures hasty, and untaps your creature cheaters to maximize what you can pop out. She's always felt a bit lacking for what I was looking for, but with some more playtesting and deck tweaking I've realized just how great she really is.

Notes about other Commanders

• Mayael the Anima : Gets me good value quite often, and the strength of that value makes up for the times when she doesn't hit. She's not the strongest by herself, and it really sets you back when she whiffs. So, maybe a piece of the 99, but not as a commander.
• Marath, Will of the Wild : Very versatile, offers a lot of solutions to a lot of problems, is a mana sink, benefits from being buffed, and rewards you for paying more mana to cast. Flexible and cheap to cast, but needs more build around and hasn't been performing as well as I need. Maybe test more later.
• Gahiji, Honored One : Haven't tested yet; looks good for aggressive strategies.
• Zacama, Primal Calamity : Haven't tested out
• Palladia-Mors, the Ruiner : Haven't tested out

Other Miscellaneous Notes (mainly for myself):

• Arid Mesa , Cavern of Souls , Flooded Strand , and Homeward Path aren't currently in the deck I own, ; Terramorphic Expanse , Unclaimed Territory , and 2 Plains are placeholders for the time being.

• Gaddock Teeg might be an interesting addition? Mmm, then again, maybe not...

Cards to Consider Changing

• Swap Skyshroud Claim and Nature's Lore ? Maybe Circuitous Route ?

• Add in Brave the Sands , or maybe some more ramp instead?

• Unbreakable Formation might be a good replacement for Boros Charm ? Less flexible, but provides more of what I'm looking for in board protection.

• Maybe swap Angel of Serenity Angel of Condemnation

Budget Replacements

• Cavern of Souls >> Unclaimed Territory

• Arid Mesa >> Terramorphic Expanse Any other expensive lands >> just swap with more basic Plains.

• Most of the creatures are pretty core to the deck, but some alternatives are >> Angelic Arbiter , Angelic Guardian , Serra's Guardian , Emeria Angel , Victory's Herald , Akroma, Angel of Wrath and Akroma, Angel of Fury , to name a few
