AAAIIIIEEEEE WE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS! THIS ISN'T WINNING ANYMORE!!! HELP!!!

Alright then. bladedrummer has brought up a point that I have been trying to avoid since the release of KTK. This deck isn't fast enough. In fact it is so slow that nothing seems to work out super well with it. I have a few ideas on how to rectify this.

1) constellation. Turn it into a faster paced constellation deck with Underworld Coinsmith .

2) Ramp. Use cards like Elvish Mystic. It accelerates, which means this deck will work faster. I would probably put other rampers in as well

3) More creatures. Instead of having 1 big creature, turn it into a life gain/horde deck, which revolves around bolstering and making a large army of small dudes bigger and bigger. It would be great, but completely change the feel of the deck.

WHAT DO Y'ALL THINK?

=============================================================

PSSTT, check out Rescuing Temur Draw! (IN BUDGET), Prowess at saving money (budget), and Mardu Budget Warriors!!!! for more budget awesomeness!

WAIT WAIT WAIT wait wait hold up. No planeswalkers. No Sylvan Caryatid. No Thoughtseize. No Courser of Kruphix. No expensive lands.

IS THIS EVEN A DECK????

The answer remains to be seen.

The gist is that lifegain is awesome. Please help me with this. I'm so F'in tired of all of these junk decks that all run 7 planeswalkers and all expensive lands. Junk is awesome. I shouldn't have to have at least $300 to win with a junk deck. Granted Courser of Kruphix would be ridiculously awesome in this deck. As would some planeswalkers. But for the purpose of budget, they are excluded (I mean $17 apiece for some extra lifegain and card advantage is good, but not good enough to be worth almost the deck itself)

THE PLAYERS

img

Ajani's Pridemate: one of the key win cons of the deck. When life gain starts happening every turn, this baby gets MASSIVE.

Wall of Limbs: another cool win con. Life gain, sac for tons of damage. Up until getting the 7 lands needed it works as a sweet blocker.

Abzan Battle Priest: lifelink for everyone! (basically)

Nyx-Fleece Ram: Life gain every turn and a huge blocker

Abzan Falconer: turns pridemate into a flying badass kitty from hell

Seeker of the Way : is actually pretty decent. The prowess ability can have a real fear factor, and if there is mana up for an Abzan Charm then he has the potential to be a 5/5 lifelinker.

SPELLS

Gods Willing: save my creatures and can provide unblockable for Ajani's Pridemate

Feat of Resistance : in my opinion, not quite as good as Gods Willing, but it still provides some protection for the pridemates and other such creatures. The counter can be really good if there is a Hardened Scales on the battlefield

Abzan Charm: card draw, extra counters, and control. Where's the downside?

Hardened Scales: basically doubles the +1/+1 counters on Ajani's Pridemate and Wall of Limbs, all for the low cost of 1 green

Kin-Tree Invocation : take my 12/12 pridemate and make another 12/12. For 2 mana.

Sign in Blood: this combined with Abzan Charm makes sure I don't run out of steam against those pesky decks running Treasure Cruise

SIDEBOARD

Wall of Essence : more life gain and a blocker. It can be an awesome chump blocker to gain tons of life. Nyx-Fleece Ram can be easily taken out for these babies

Despise : cheaper thoughtseize, and while I wish that we still had Duress in standard, despise can still get rid of large late game threats.

Abzan Falconer: I have found him to be a game changer when he hits the board, but couldn't really find another slot for him on the MB. If the games could use some flying, he's here.

Erase: enchantment removal. Whip of Erebos is in right now, so this will get rid of that.

Banishing Light: more random removal. Utter End is just barely more money, so if you were to make your own build I would recommend that.

Devouring Light : its spot removal that is really surprising when its played.

Ainok Bond-Kin : Actually works really well, especially when pesky things with deathtouch are involved.

Please give me suggestions! I really want to make a good, standard, budget deck!

Yeah, This is Cheap AFYes, this is cheap. Therefore, while it HAS the ability to stand up to really expensive decks, it does not always perform to the best that it could. A few of you have asked for a decklist if price were no object, and the cards that I would include are below.

Courser of Kruphix, Ajani Steadfast, Banishing Light, Thoughtseize, Siege Rhino, and, of course, lands lands lands

Updates Add

I've been playin this deck a lot, and I have made some changes. Dropped the Sungrace Pegasus, as it really doesn't provide that much to the game. I also dropped Eternal Thirst in favor of some Abzan Battle Priest and some Sign in Blood. I'm also thinking about putting Ainok Bond-Kin in somewhere in the mainboard, cause with Hardened Scales, Feat of Resistance, and Abzan Charm even the sheep seem to have counters on them. Tell me what you think.
