Work in progress...

The deck is designed to keep the battlefield clear while maximizing Yennett. Subthemes are to blink or recur for value.

As for the Counterbalance, go for the counters with top deck manipulation at CMC 3 and 5, but remember to use it also for the knowledge of what will come to be at your draw. Knowing what you don't want yet is important information! Manipulate the future and will it away for a turn or two.

Yennett's ability has a "may" and an "otherwise" language. So, even CMC spells will trigger the "otherwise" clause, but so too does your decision to not cast an odd CMC spell. Why is this relevant and why wouldn't I cast the odd CMC spell? Let's say you weren't able to see a Karmic Guide coming to the top of your deck or it was surrounded by land and then swung into it with an ability trigger of Yennett. You have no creatures in the graveyard yet, so don't feel pressured to play it. Simply, you'll have a Karmic Guide to cast later or for free by placing it back on top of your deck via brainstorm, penance, scroll rack or some other way.

Next item to note is Timesifter. I have a love/hate relationship with this card, but in this deck I think it has the potential to create a lot of turns. Many turn spells have high CMC. So, if you arrange the top of your deck so Timesifter eats a high CMC turn spell then it's no big deal. Timesifter just net you a turn just as the spell would have done anyways. For this reason, you may want to include all turn spells. True, an even CMC won't go off with Yennett, but drawing it means you can hard cast it anyways giving Yennett another try. And as mentioned above, if it is eaten by Timesifter then no loss anyways. I haven't pushed this idea just yet as my play group detests Narset and her turns strategy. Call this deck currently a mild form of it. Although, it is possible to go infinite turns toward the late game: nexus of fate + rune-scarred demon + venser, aminatou, or displacer.

For swinging fun, all the board wipes are odd CMC and nearly one sided. By that I mean Yennett will be unaffected.

I recently added Hatred as it could be a sudden and explosive ending for general damage. Yennett has built-in evasion with menace, making hatred an easier hit. I added sword of light and shadow for three factors: fetch target with trophy mage, protection from the primary spot removal colors, and adds some additional combat evasion while giving us options out of the graveyard.
