-Deck Power Evaluation-

Style: Spellslinger

Burn through cantrips to sculpt your hand to fit your needs

Tutor Count: 5

Enlightened Tutor, Fabricate, Gamble, Merchant Scroll, Mystical Tutor

Win by Turn: 6-8

If uninterrupted, it is possible to win by turn 6. Generally you will need a few turns to get Kykar into play and a few more turns to find a win condition, but once the engine gets going it is difficult to stop.

Power Level: 8.5

I don't feel that this deck's overall strategy is particularly broken or unfair, but the list does have a few tutors and a couple pieces of fast mana. What kicks this list up in power is its tuned mana base. This 99 is able to consistently power out what it needs to when it needs to because it is usually perfectly color fixed.

-Deck Play Patterns-

Get Kykar down and start digging through your deck for Skullclamp. Skullclamp is going to be one of the most powerful cards in the list, allowing you to draw into more cantrips, which in turn creates more spirits, which can be used to attack, block, or cast more spells. Eventually you'll find a wincon in Purphoros, God of the Forge or Impact Tremors. These cards turn every cantrip into table wide Shock or Lava Dart. These effects are enhanced by Anointed Procession, Monastery Mentor, Saheeli, Sublime Artificer.

Skullclamp with a Sensei's Divining Top in play usually signals the end for you opponents. Those two cards on their own aren't game ending, but it allows you to clamp a spirit, with the draw trigger on the stack, activate your top to get it on top of your library where it will then be drawn from the Skullclamp trigger. Recast the top and gain a token off Kykar, Mentor, or Saheeli and repeat until you are out of mana. From there, draw yourself into an Impact Tremors or Purphoros to burn the table out. Mana Echoes with the token production, and specifically Sensei's Divining Top and Skull Clamp, can make near infinite mana. This will guarantee you can loop the top and clamp until you can find a finisher.

I've been wanting to play a Jeskai list that wasn't an all in combo list for a long time and Kykar enabled that for me. I love slinging spells, but didn't want to go with a Labman or Blue Sun's Zenith win so instead we win through cutting our opponent's life total down while building up an army of tokens that can be used to finish them off.
