This deck is designed to be able to handle any kind of hate that is thrown at it because most decks that I play tend to get hated out because they scary quickly. Kagemaro is the main win condition but the deck can run fine without him.

Since Kagemaro is the main win condition I like to pump him up and make him unblockable. Because black has plenty of card draw, pumping him up isn't hard and he's usually always big unless you overplay and have no cards in your hand. Trust me, this happened to me plenty of times in the beginning. Making him unblockable a little trickier. One of my favorite interactions with this is Filth in the graveyard and Urborg out. It's something most people don't notice right away and is kinda cool. Rime Transfusion is also awesome. Rogue's Passage is bleh because it broadcast's immediately the point of the deck the moment it's played, but it gets the job done.

Most of the deck: Recursion and Life GainKagemaro is great removal and can easily lock down the board if I'm playing against creature heavy decks. But because the point of him is to die so often he can get expensive quickly so I built in as much recursion as I thought necessary. As for life gain, it's a black deck and I really like life gain. You might notice that Exsanguinate and like cards are missing. This is because a friend told me that all black decks were the same: just waiting for them to drop Exsanguinate and end the game. This really pissed me off so I worked hard to take those out of my deck. Sure, I run Corrupt, Merchant, and Kokusho but none of those ever hit to the same extent as Exsanguinate (not game winning) so I don't find an issue with them.

Personal favorite Cards: Choice of Damnations and Worst Fears Choice of Damnations to me is a really fun card because it can be really brutal and change the tide but it's particularly fun because I see it as a weird agreement that me and whoever I play use it on make.Worst Fears is just really good and I don't ever see people use it so it's just great :)
