So instead of playing Stoneforge Mystic to be more aggressive, there's Knowledge Pool + Teferi, Time Raveler to help against tough decks like combo and burn. With Karn, the Great Creator, you can actually afford to play the combo, so you don't have a clunky artifact in the deck, and can get other things from the sideboard when you're not looking for the combo, if you for example haven't drawn teferi already. Because of that, the primary game plan is NOT to execute the combo, but to act as a control deck that can suprise with the combo. Teferi, Time Raveler is a card where you don't need Knowledge Pool to make use of. Unlike somthing as Splinter Twin, teferi is also really good by itself, just like karn is.

Also, Stoneforge Mystic is kind of the standard for UW decks these days, so it seems like the perfect time to mix it up a little.
