This is essentially the shell of a rock deck, minus Liliana, Bob, and Goyfs, and adding more synergy with the resource denial strategy of the deck. Knight of the Reliquary is often bigger or on par with Goyfs and has synergy with Raven's Crime, Fetch lands, Syphon Life, as well as with Smallpox. Scavenging Ooze can neuter an opponents graveyard interaction which can be relevant in matchups from pod, to storm, dredgevine, you get the idea. Lingering Souls is a value card whether it is discarded to an opposing Liliana, or to your own smallpox, or can even just provide chump blockers. I omitted Path ot Exile due to the land denial strategy (inspired by legacy pox). Giving an opponent a land in exchange for a creature is not what this deck is looking to do. Smallpox provides quality removal, and gets around hexproof or indestructible creatures as well. Abrupt Decay, Treetop Village, and Inquisition of Kozilek are all here, as well as our own Thoughtseize's to strip the opponents hand of answers and threats alike.
