Sideboard

This deck is just about the most fun I've had in standard in a long time. It's very straightforward but requires enough decision making to not be dull.

The main way I've noticed the deck winning is the high velocity of burn by chaining Expansion / Explosions or kicking a fight with fire. If that doesn't work, you fly over them with Crackling Drake.

Things I've Noticed from Other Match-ups

The Golgari match up isn't as bad as you would think. When they see Steam Vents or Sulfur Falls they expect jeskai control, and often just play out things they shouldn't against you like Ravenous Chupacabra onto an empty board. While we aren't as strong as jeskai, after they play out their Removal on a stick, it's much easier for you to stick a Crackling Drake and even when you don't, you still feel like they didn't get value in removing it since they likely spent another removal spell, or you ate something like a Carnage Tyrant with it. The key here is to not worry too much about your life total. You're safer going to the dome with those Lightning Strikes than you might think, but you have all the time in the world to just hold them back and continue to set up for lethal burn over the course of a couple turns because of their inherent lack of speed. Your post board is also nice against them. The only thing I'm afraid of is a Carnage Tyrant when I'm too far behind, and if I'm falling behind in that match-up early, I'm not winning it anyways. It might be possible to fit in a Detection Tower against this deck, I just don't think it's worth it, since I can race it better in most cases. I think a River's Rebuke for this match-up might just be better in the sideboard. It's essentially a one-sided wrath, and most of they time they'll lose value, even with all of their recursion, from the bounce.

The Selesnya Tokens Match-up is almost always ABYSMAL. Unfortunately, here's where we make concessions. This deck runs us over more often than not. We can still win using the Fiery Cannonades out of the sideboard. You will almost always lose game 1. Games 2 and 3 are better, but if they have even reasonable draws, we're not favored here.

Most of the other match-up's I've tested have been around 50/50. I've tested this against Golgari, Selesnya, Esper Control, Boros, Jeskai, and Dimir. Since there are so many ways to build each color combination at the moment, a lot of your match up's are about sideboarding. Decks where you can one-for-one easy like Dimir, the control decks, and most golgari and boros decks we're favored, since most of our stuff replaces itself. Against the more aggressive strategies, we make some concessions game 1, but against everything not Selesnya that's aggressive, we have a reasonable game 1, and Fiery Cannonade out of the sideboard shores up our match ups and makes it reasonable to win games 2 and 3 if we lost game 1.

The possibility of 20 points in a single turn isn't just cute. I've ended my opponent with a kicked Fight with Fire copied by an Expansion / Explosion more often than you'd think. And yes, you can copy a kicked one, it's cmc is still 3 when it's kicked. I've looked it up on different sources just to be sure. It's hilarious how in the late game, your opponent never feels safe since that's always a possibility from you(and it happens more often than you think.) I'm honestly surprised that this spell hasn't seen more play, since it's so versatile and can just end games out of nowhere. Especially as another finisher for Jeskai.

If you have any pieces that I might have missed, feel free to recommend them. I'm always looking to improve this deck, and there's always considerations I probably haven't made yet.
