This deck started as mono-white but I decided to splash some black to spice things up a bit and I'm pretty happy with the result.

The Idea is quite simple; put counters on your creatures to make them bigger and to give them abilities using instants or auras on Heroic creatures, or by activating Outlast.

Notable cards and synergies:

Phalanx Leader is the glue of the deck that provides those precious counters for all your creatures at the same time with his Heroic trigger.

Mer-Ek Nightblade + Archetype of Courage or Ainok Bond-Kin + Mer-Ek Nightblade is just nasty.

Athreos, God of Passage really makes your opponent think what to do with your dead , Ainok Bond-Kin, Archetype of Courage or Mer-Ek Nightblade.

Heliod, God of the Sun pumps out few 2/1 clerics in a turn - even more clerics if you have enough devotion and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx on the field, and 5/6 indestructible creature is pretty big threat. Heliod also gives all your other creatures vigilance and if your creatures already have first strike from Ainok Bond-Kin or Archetype of Courage and deathtouch from Mer-Ek Nightblade your creatures become a wall of death that can attack and then block on opponent's turn.

Spear of Heliod acts as removal and a buff, also it adds to the devotion and that gets our gods moving.
