Doomsday and creatures —Aug. 20, 2018
A situation became clear that when a lot of damage is sustained our doomsday becomes pretty hard to pull off. try to stay about 9 life if operating the deck to ensure multiple piles when trying to attempt doomsday.
While the creatures that applied to Yuriko ability were useful in some situations, it became apparent that it was taking up a lot of time in matches trying to either protect Yuriko or attempting to get through blockers. The addition of Cover of Darkness is to ensure that at least the commander itself can give us some chance to getting card advantage.
Why Xiahou Dun? He is a weird creature that has horsemanship while that isn't the important part he allows us to recur our black spells like yawgmoth's will and also our tutors if need be. You ask why not snap caster? well This does not exile our spells this doesnt make us feel bad when trying to attempt another Demonic Consultation if we are going for the win with labman.
Why Cavern of Souls? It hits all of our creatures especially our Notion Thief and Laboratory Maniac. Allowing us to have to do less to protect them.
Maybe attempting to remove dramatic scepter package because of the non synergy with in the deck. Majority of the time I just use the scepter as value.

Wurmlover lol I had thoughts on it, but for my meta it is pretty slow and we have way to much removal. I will probably build an alternative build later on once I make this one solid enough.

I dont really understand your deck. You say that you dont want to win with her ability and include two very strong combos which are fine. If that is the case what is the point of including any other ninja cards at all? Just seems like wasted cards slots in an otherwise solid combo deck. You should just be playing yuriko for the colors if thats the case you could just play any dimir general

shadowmage: I see what you are saying. If you check other decks, they operate with a bunch of one drop creatures that allow you drop her out early or on a constant basis. To be honest, the main issue is connect after turn 3 or 4. I will be figuring out something to bring Cover of Darkness in the deck. It will allow me to gain access to yuriko ability while only being 2 mana. Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow, is decent card advantage in the deck. Also she is a good opener for Doomsday at time. Obviously, you would hope to have a back up opener for Doomsday. Either way I'm more testing out the creatures as I said in the update.
