Jodah Superfriends

Jodah's Superfriends deck tries to embrace big chunk of my owned Planeswalkers. I did not want to expand the collection (but maybe in future I will add the more expensive ones) with only the best Planeswalkers. My goal was to include the best from which I own, plus few extra I personally want to purchase either way. Other Planeswalkers I added, which I do not own yet are: Gideon of the Trials (who gives powerful emblem), Karn, Scion of Urza (fits the thematic of the deck, Urza was a PW, but also gives me insight into next two cards, making a hard choice for an opponent to decide which PW to give me on hand), Elspeth, Sun's Champion (she destroyes those pesky creatures, keeping the board semi-clear), Ajani Steadfast (this version of big white, cat is only natural in Superfriends), Teferi, Temporal Archmage (he allows to active loyalties at instant speed, pretty neat if You ask me), Venser, the Sojourner (he can bounce the the Planeswalkers, so then can be some fun combo hidden there), Ugin, the Spirit Dragon (when NB is included, then his brother could not be left out, but he is also powerful in his own right).

Now, let me justify some creature choices: Atraxa, Praetors' Voice + Inexorable Tide can boost up the Planeswalkers quite quick. Adding to that Doubling Season the friends can use ultimate in many cases right away when coming onto the battlefield. Blazing Archon is here to lock the creatures, as I am using Jodah, Archmage Eternal as my Commander, the 9 CMC is irrelevant in most cases. Brago, King Eternal + Venser, the Sojourner are the blinking pieces which can allow me to activate Planeswalkers couple of times during my turn, which paired with Oath of Teferi + The Chain Veil can create some nice results. Djeru, With Eyes Open is here to together with blinking effects can search me for any Planeswalker I need, plus it prevents some damage to Planeswalkers which means it is sometimes enough to make Planeswalker leave to another turn. Eternal Witness + Sun Titan or other blinking effect can bring my dead Planeswalkers from the Graveyard. Shalai, Voice of Plenty is self-explanatory, but she protects not only me with hexproof, but also Planeswalkers and other creatures. Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage my lovely Dominarian Wizard. He provides Flash for all my Planeswalkers, but also for legendary sorceries or enchantments, another flash effect is Alchemist's Refuge. Jhoira's Familiar seems odd, but adding that almost half of the deck is historic, means lots of cards are coming cheaper, so I can use that mana for bigger spells.

That covers all creatures, but one more is needed to be mentioned: Jodah, Archmage Eternal, I used him mainly for color identity, but I plan on using his ability to spend WURBG for such cards as: Blazing Archon, Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh + Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker , Beacon of Tomorrows, Conflux (which can give me some nice Planeswalkers to the hand or other needed removal), In Garruk's Wake, Rise of the Dark Realms, ot Primevals' Glorious Rebirth. Rise of the Dark Realms is my little touch, as I assume other opponents will loose their creatures, or board wipe them etc. Then I can resurrect them and use them against those Players. Some cards which may need an explanation: Aetherworks Marvel is great with this deck as it gives me energy, which is also doubled with Doubling Season, which then I can use to cast any card from the top 6. This with Nissa, Steward of Elements + Sensei's Divining Top can set me up for some free Planeswalkers.

The biggest obstacles seem to be Exiles or that the deck needs nice set up to get going. But Cyclonic Rift + Teferi's Protection should create some openings. Similar case is with In Garruk's Wake which destroys creatures and Planeswalkers which I do not own. I have one Exile of my own Urza's Ruinous Blast which does not do much to me beside the artifacts and few creatures. Heart of Kiran in cheap blocker, which can be activated without having any creatures. Settle the Wreckage although limited to one Player, can be used as a political tool.

There are other cards, which add some tokens also such as: Oath of Gideon, Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, Elspeth, Knight-Errant (who can also give emblem with indestructible, unforunately it does not protect Planeswalkers), Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury, Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, Vraska, Relic Seeker. Some of this Planeswalker are also nice removal spells, and other provide card draw or mana fixing. Oath of Nissa is my favourite Oath, as it lets me use any mana to cast Planeswalkers, but also I can take one from the top three cards, and this all for just one green mana. Another great Oath is Oath of Ajani, maybe the first part often times it won't do much, but casting Planeswalkers cheaper, I take that any time.

I think I covered most of the cards in the deck. I am not stubborn on this deck, but I would like to leave the most of the Planeswalkers I have chosen. I am keen on experimenting with different ones, or add/cut supporting cards.
