Instant (2)

Creature (1)

Using the new Thing in the Ice as the main win condition I am experimenting with this deck with in the new meta.

Monastery Swiftspear is the only other creature (I can't afford Jace or Snapcaster so I'm not trying them) and she works wonders with TitI as I cast a lot of instant and Sorcery spells per turn and can then recast her after TitI flips and still build up spells for extra damage.

Lightning Bolt is just cheap removal to keep blockers out of the way and burn face as needed... it's Bolt.

The rest of the deck acts a lot like storm just to dig and keep casting spells.

Electrolyze may be a bit expensive for the main deck, I'm not sure but the ability to help clear blockers as well as draw a card is why it's here.

Sideboard:

My sideboard gives me an extra win condition in Keranos, God of Storms (that and I have one in foil so it would be tragic not to run him).

Updated

6/10/16

Last night I took the deck to FNM and went 3-1 taking down Burn, Mono Green Infect, A green Tooth and Nail deck, and lost to Tron in the final. I noticed that Spell Snare didn't do me any good and was sided out each time I could. I think I am going to swap it out for a Spell Pierce into the main and put a Vapor Snag (4 total) into the side board. Electrolize performed well, not one game did I feel I needed to sideboard it out.

Molten Rain or Crumble to Dust are cards I am thinking of bringing into the sideboard as a way to fight against the Tron lands and/or any other problem lands.

Last night I went 3-1 again. Mono Red, Bogals, and Elves I beat but lost to UG Infect. I'm quite happy with how the deck has been doing in it's current form. I will have to see in a few more games how Chasm Skulker does. I got it out a few games and it drew a Path right away one game and the other it did get large but had little effect on the game.

I haven't had a chance to head down to FNM from my last update but I have acquired a Snapcaster Mage so that has come in and I have pulled out a Vapor Snag. I have also slightly edited my sideboard removing Dismember, Pia and Kira nalaar, and Shaterstorm with 2 each of Molten Rain and Crumble to Dust coming in. I am going this way to test them out and see what works better and keep just that.

All around bad showing by this deck that night. I went 2:2 (one win was a by) I won vs. Infect. I lost vs. Soul Sisters and a UW turns deck.

Soul Sisters was the first time I have had such bad mana issues; I have seldom had trouble keeping a one land hand and in game two (lost game 1) I mulliganed to 6 to keep a Steam Vent. After 4 turns that was it for land after casting 3 cantrips and my scry to find more land.

The UW turns deck was cool and something I have not seen before. It played Gigadrowse and Exhaustion to lock me down till it was able to cast any and all take an extra turn effects he could including the awaken one and use that as his beat down. I was able to win game 2 by playing low curve creatures and cheap counter magic targeting his Exhaustion and extra turn effects.

Other then the mana screw round 2 I would say the deck did fine, just feels like it's missing something.
