Pretty much straight control, going for low cost spells to trigger Thing in the Ice while still also having enough mana curve to be able to throw out counters in addition to the spells to activate transform. Sphinx of the Final Word is a good control creature for win con, good in mirror matches as long as I get the play first. Collective Defiance is a good hand miller for undesirable mid game draws, or to speed up to a kill card.

Sideboard is intended to supplement mirror matches with dispel and the rest to combat creature based matches.
