Legacy Aggro Budget Combo Competitive Dredge Zombie

Skip the lands, save the money, and still competitive.

This is my version of manaless dredge. It is a solid deck that most people don't expect and budget friendly.

This sideboard is a multiplayer list as well as some alternatives for non combo games.

basic breakdown:

Golgari Grave-Troll, Golgari Thug, Stinkweed Imp for dredging.

Narcomoeba, Nether Shadow, Ichorid, and Prized Amalgam for recursion to fill the board.

Phantasmagorian to dump your hand.

Street Wraith and Gitaxian Probe as cantrips for extra dredges.

Cabal Therapy and Dread Return as spells to play from the grave, paid for by the recurring creatures. These spells fuel Bridge from Below for tokens.

Flayer of the Hatebound, Flame-Kin Zealot, Balustrade Spy, and Golgari Grave-Troll are Dread Return targets.

Balustrade Spy will dump my library into my graveyard so i have access to all the creatures.

Bridge from Below is my token generator and serves as a fuel source/win condition.

-Mulligans are a problem, but seem to happen infrequently; generally 1 dredge creature is enough to get started. This deck works really well against control and holds its own against aggro, but gets destroyed by any grave hate. Combo is a race.

Stupid question: Under what condition can Phantasmagorian's activated ability be used? Can it be from your hand or does it have to be in the graveyard first? Also do you have to mulligan until you find a Phantasmagorian? Not a legacy player, but I can kind of see how the combo works. Seems like you need to have very specific conditions.

You can use it in when it is in the graveyard multiple times on the stack (if you have the cards). You don't want to mulligan with this deck ever, but generally 1 dredger is enough. The goal is to get 3 creatures in play and Dread Return Balustrade Spy for an instant kill.

Love this deck. Also not sure if you knew this, (I only just found out) you can arrange the cards you dump from Balustrade Spy in any order.

Jmitch1296, At the start of most games you just draw and end the turn so you discard a dredge card.
