Went 2-2 and made 8th in top 8. My first match up was UWR control, went 2-0. Second match up was against JUND, went 2-0 as well. I even went down to four on my mulligan and beat the guy. Third match up was less favorable. I played against affinity and lost, 1-2. It was tough to beat since he could dump his creatures out really fast, but it got worse when he sided in Spellskite on the second game, and I couldn't draw any Nature's Claim. Luckily the guy was nice and gave me some tips (after he beat me LOL). He said that I could use Vines of Vastwood on Spellskite to stop it from redirecting, and I could also use that on Arcbound Ravager targets. Last match up was against Bogles. I HAVE NO EARTHLY IDEA WHY I LOST. I seriously don't because here's the funny thing...he didn't even play a Slippery Bogle he was main boarding Dryad Militant (which were quite effective against Become Immense). I felt really dumb losing to him (the guy was new player, so good for him though) and I really don't know how he won. Afterwards he told me he was just now getting into magic, and was just borrowing the deck. He then told me that he was wanting to play infect as his first deck, which made my day. I got spill my knowledge to him, and then was getting ready to leave (2-2 isn't really a winning record LOL)...when the head judge called me over and said "hey don't drop, you're the only 2-2 to make top 8" and I was shocked. I then lost, 1-2 to another affinity player...LOL! It was still a pretty awesome night.
I don't feel like the list has any issues against affinity, I just have never played against affinity until those games. I'll be more prepared next time.
