Death and Taxes decks are doing well right now cause the have good main board answers to other top tier decks.this version is a bit different. Instead of mono , /, or the / versions. This deck is /.

Running blue lets me focus on being more of a control deck. and even though there are only 8 non-creature spells do not be confused, this is a control deck. if you know about Taxes decks, you know 4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, 4 Leonin Arbiter and 4 Ghost Quarter are the usual suspects. this deck also runs the following:

• 3 Reflector Mage to control the board state
• 3 Spell Queller to counter key spells.
• 1 Glen Elendra Archmage because I would like to always have a negate on standby
• 2 Vendilion Clique to disrupt a combo or a hand.
• 2 Nimble Obstructionist to Stifle effects like crack lands or planeswalkers.
• 2 Ninja of the Deep Hours , 1 Flickerwisp, and 3 Restoration Angel To enable us to fully take advantage of all the decks ETB triggers.
• The deck also runs 3 Geist of Saint Traft as a hard to deal with finisher.

great match-ups: Tron or Eldrazi: These two decks depend on certain lands. running 4 Ghost Quarter or Tectonic Edge is really good. with this version you can Ghost Quarter and lock your opponent out of the game with the help of Leonin Arbiter .

Storm: this deck needs to be able to play all the spells (usually 20ish) to kill you. Thalia, Guardian of Thraben is storm decks kryptonite. having Ethersworn Canonist as a back up in the side is just pay dirt.

Sideboard:- 1x Emrakul, the Aeons Torn for mill, I suspect an up-tick in them soon with new Fraying Sanity combo.- 3x Ethersworn Canonist mostly for storm, but is also really useful against other combo decks.- 2x Hurkyl's Recall for affinity- 1x Nimble Obstructionist in case having another Stifle effects would help- 2x Phyrexian Revoker to shut down plainswalkers and the like- 3x Relic of Progenitus for dredge- 3x Wispmare for enchantment hate to take down BloodMoon or the Solemnity combos that may show up.
