Time has not been too kind to ultra budget infect :( As a lot of the main components have risen in price from mere pennies to larger fractions of a dollar this deck will no longer be available for under 10 dollars as it once was. HOWEVER, some nice reprints of Rancor and Might of Old Krosa means we can add these highly powerful spells while keeping the overall budget theme. While this deck will run you between 30 and 40 dollars today, I would still consider this deck to be one of the better budget modern decks available. I will try to update the list once in a while and as always am open to suggestions!

I'm hoping to try this deck out in the next few weeks at fnm. It looks really fun to play. The only modifications I think that i may make is using 2-3 Rancor and 1-2 Revenge of the Hunted .

@bcornett24Go for it with the Rancor but I'm not sure Revenge of the Hunted is the best option. This deck aims to win in 4 turns or less, which would give you 4 chances of drawing it at the beginning of a turn. That doesn't really convince me, specially because if you draw it on your opening hand it's a dead card

Luiscencias I was only thinking of using 1 Revenge of the Hunted two tops. When it hits for miracle though, its amazing. I have tried a deck with 4 of them before and learned a horrible lesson. XD

Yeah a single one is definitely plausible, and the joy it brings when you draw it on tour second turn is priceless

I just saw something else that looked rather amusing you may like this idea as well. Since you are aiming to win with poison counters you could possibly replace Necropede with Virulent Sliver . It may not have the on death trigger but its a one drop instead and its cheap like .25.

Ah, i misread how poisonous works. That won't work after all, my bad.

Yes poisonous does not work too well. Also if one is willing to, you know, 10x the price of the deck and slow it down a notch but also make it much more competitive, splashing blue and black for Blighted Agent , Plague Stinger and unblockability opens many possibilities and could make this deck very, very consistent (I still think $10 for this is a really sweet deal)

This is a good cheap infect deck, I personally like to splash red for burn and a couple other things so I can get their creatures out of the way. +1!

hey this is more than $10 :)

@Darklord1 Well the extra money pretty much comes from the sideboard which I'd not recommend copying since the meta is different in varying places.

Primal Bellow sounds nice in this deck maybe instead of one of the Vines of Vastwood

put Primal Bellow instead of Giant Growth not Vines of Vastwood !! you need that hexproof!!!

January 24, 2014 9:31 a.m.

Luiscencias says... #21

@M4dGun I'm still considering it. The thing is sometimes this deck runs on two lands for a while, and by the time I have enough lands to make Primal Bellow more effective than Giant Growth I've either won or have a Wild Defiance out. You could certainly try it and I'll test the deck out with it too!

I'm working on something similar. I use Virulent Sliver instead of Blight Mamba .

January 24, 2014 1:04 p.m.

Luiscencias says... #23

Nashbridges, if you look at the previous discussion, you'll see that poisonous doesn't work like infect. What poisonous does is that whenever that creature deals damage to an opponent, he or she gets 1 poison counter, regardless of the amount of damage dealt.

Shoot my bad! Looks like I need to make some changes to my deck, did not realize poisonous worked like that...

Very nice deck...the only card I'd add to this deck is Inkmoth Nexus , but that will push the budget up. +1
