pie chart 10 Dollar Death ($15)

This is my budget Standard deck. It's a black/white landfall deck based around Ob Nixilis, the Fallen. Admonition Angel is a mean addition to this deck because when I get up to steam, I'm exiling approximately 3-4 permanents a turn. Also, Emeria Angel is good for creature ramp. I also have Inquisition of Kozilek and Duress in here to make my opponent discard some of their good cards. Let me know what you think.

The way this deck really gets mean with landfall is with my Ruin Ghosts. They give me consistent land drops each turn. Also helpful are my cheap fetchlands Terramorphic Expanse and Evolving Wilds. Not only do they basically trigger landfall twice, but I get my choice of either a Swamp or Plains depending on the scenario.

As for creature destruction, I would run 4 Go for the Throat, but I only own one and they are fairly expensive.

Also, any sideboard advice would be great as I'm trying to build a decent sideboard as well.

Good for a budgeted outline. With that said, it needs a lot of work. I would recommend not using the cards in the maybeboard.

Removal: Tomb Hex is superseded by Grasp of Darkness in today's standard. Doom Blade is the best non-burn kill spell right now. So I recommend increasing the count to four by taking out Bladed Pinions . Caustic Crawler is not good. Replace it with Disfigure s.

Card Advantage: The only three targets I see for Diabolic Tutor are Ruin Ghost , Ob Nixilis, the Fallen , and an emergency Plains . Sign in Blood is a much better choice for the deck. Especially mutatis mutandis, its Latin. It pretty much means after the changes are made.

Creatures: Scrib Nibblers is not good. Because deck focuses on landfall, add a Plains , a Swamp , and two either Admonition Angel or Emeria Angel and take out the scrib-nibblers. Admonition Angel would be preferred. Both angels are fairly budget. While Bloodhusk Ritualist is pretty good, I recommend taking one out for a Plains . You are going to need the white mana.

Lands: I realize its budget. That being said, after the previous changes, exchange one Swamp for a Plains . I think that should balance it out nicely.

Sideboard: 3x Vampire Hexmage -against planeswalkers. 3x Deathmark -obvious. 3x Celestial Purge -obvious. 2x Memoricide - Combo-breaker. 2x Nihil Spellbomb -kills DredgeVine or Necrotic Ooze decks. 2x Revoke Existence -anything that bothers you. NOTE: Any sideboard should be changed to fit your metagame, decks you normally play against. The sideboard I recommended pertains to multiple decks and is probably not Pro-Tour quality.

That is my advice. Take it or leave it, it's your choice. If you feel so inclined, take a look at my decks. - Rustria

Thank you very much! I think that the changes (aside from the sideboard) push it up to $12, but for the most part, you really helped me out a lot. I do have one question, though. With adding all of these plains to my deck, Grasp of Darkness seems less reasonable to me than tomb hex because I can get color screwed. Aside from that, though. I have no complaints.

Will make the changes soon.

It doesn't work that way all that often. I have a duel color deck that runs Grasp of Darkness and I have always been able to cast it. If you are worried about the potential color screw then I would say to add 1 Disfigure and 3 Grasp of Darkness and take out the Tomb Hex es. A Disfigure is just a more efficient Tomb Hex anyway.

If you use this in a tournament please post how it did. I'm curious.

That is my advice. Take it or leave it, it's your choice. If you feel so inclined, take a look at my decks. - Rustria

Thanks for the recognition! By the way, you can hyperlink cards and users by putting two brackets on each side of the card/user. Do not use spaces in between the brackets.

Ex: [ [Rustria] ] or [ [Disfigure] ]

So, Rustria, I was wondering whether I should run 2 Admonition Angel s or just run 1 of her and 1 of the Emeria Angel s. Also, what do you think of my sideboard? I figured with all of the mean artifact stuff in standard, I could easily swap out the creature destruction with artifact/enchantment destruction.

One more thing. Thanks for the brackets tip. Now I don't look like a complete moron on the cite.

Ok. Updated it. Put in the other Emeria Angel and the Inquisition of Kozilek s. I also removed the last Bloodhusk Ritualist for an additional Plains . What do you think?

It still seems to be missing something. If you have the money to invest in Day of Judgment or card:Black Sun's Zenith, I would recommend putting those in the deck over the Inquisition of Kozilek s. Also it needs to be more consistent in my opinion. Maybe adding another Emeria Angel or Ob Nixilis, the Fallen and taking out an card:Explorer's Scope. This scope is good for landfall but it can be a dead card, and personally I hate potentially dead cards. The only one I'll use is Kuldotha Rebirth because its amazing.
